I never had Indonesian food before. Therefore, I can't speak on the authenticity. If we are just talking about food, it was amazing. The murtabak/fried wonton with beef was amazing. The filing was delicious and outside pastry was crispy. The tamarind sauce that came with it was a little too sweet and overpowering, but I didn't mind it. Grilled chicken with yellow rice was amazing. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. It had a glaze of a teriyaki like sauce. The chicken tasted really good. The yellow rice was amazing too. Rendang/beef curry reminded me of Bangladeshi style beef curry. Specially the gravy. In my opinion, the meat was a little dry and tough. It might have something to do with the cut of the meat, but the gravy was awesome. Next time I order it, I'll request to replace rice with yellow rice. Overall the service was good and the food...

Don’t sleep on this spot - Yeni’s is some of the best food in Austin! Everything is delicious and made with love, and you can taste it. If you’ve never had Indonesian food before, make this your first experience as soon as possible because once you come, you’ll want some every week! Yeni changes up the menu every now and then, and it’s always exciting to try new things. I highly highly recommend the Batagor (fried dumplings, I get them every time), some sort of soup, and some sort of rice dish. The chicken and yellow rice, and the curried beef (like stewed beef over rice, not brothy soup) are some favorite entrees of mine, but honestly everything is amazing! When they say “support small businesses” they mean Yeni’s! You can also follow her on instagram for new menu additions, and you can order online through a link there:...

i have mixed feelings about yeni’s fusion food truck.. i went there twice and both times, they were out of everything like 3 hours before their closing time:( the seller was extremely sweet and friendly but the food was not up to par:( i looooved their batagor, although it was already overpriced. their porridge was disappointing😭 all the toppings were too mushy and there’s not much flavor. the yellow rice with chicken was also not the best. the chicken itself was great and has a smoky flavor, but the rice was tasteless. the meatballs noodle soup was also not so great, it was pretty much tasteless and the meat consistency was super crumbly. i might be back just to get the batagor but...
