Fantastic Gyro. I had a hankering for a good Gyro since I hadn't had one in a long time so I ask the old Google "who has a good gyro near me?" and it spit out Mike & Tony's in South Side (which is too long a drive for me) and Pronto Pizza in Belvue/Avalon. I figured "meh, what the heck, let's try it", after all I dated a girl who lived over this way so I "sort of" knew the area. It was about 15 minutes from my house which is a hike for food, but not that bad. The girl on the phone was friendly and pleasant. I asked her which was better, chicken or gyro meat and she gave me a very straightforward and honest answer "the gyro meat is better, its REAL gyro, not the processed junk!".... Ok then! Sold! The food was priced adequately, not expensive by any means. And the food was exceptional. They pack everything separate which is nice for picky people, and the meat is REAL gyro just like the specialty places, (not that sliced compressed "loaf" stuff). Y You can tell from the meat slices/shavings they have real gyro meat roasting on a spit in the kitchen. Their Tzatziki sauce tasted homemade and had actual cucumber bits in it, very mild and creamy. The tzatziki was a very nice foil to the spiciness of the meat. Fries were received hot and tasty. One gyro with fries set me back about $12. But I could barely finish the dang thing, it was packed full, large sized, and I could barely eat the rest of my fries after plowing through the tasty gyro (I put fries ON the gyro usually, that's how a lot of places serve them in southeastern Europe). Overall, I'd eat here again, no doubt. Food was hot, portion good, quality was good. People were nice to me. No complaints at all. I definitely recommend the traditional gyros! Never had the pizza here, but I'm inclined to try it after receiving a high...
Read moreLet me start out by saying the food is great but the owner is absolutely one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. He will not give you his name and will argue with you over a missing salad dressing. I will also state a large group of people place these orders as least weekly and have placed thousands of dollars worth of orders in 2023 alone. We will now be looking for another local pizza company that will be grateful for our business. Good luck to the employees who have to work for such a terrible individual. Good luck to the customer in their food being right, don’t call and tell them anything is wrong as you will be the problem and just get yelled at and hung up on. Response to the owner: it was not mayo it was blue cheese dressing which we did not find, you hung up on me and I called a second time after you refuse to let me speak to Nikki or Amber. You seriously are terrible and can’t even get the information correctly as you don’t care. Little do you know those thousands spent there in 2023 were on my credit card and myself and others will not be ordering from such a terrible business owner. You may still have other co workers order there but it will be very few and orders will be very minimal for 1-2 people. It’s very amusing that you are trying to make yourself look good by lying in the review and to literally yell at a customer over “blue cheese” and hang up on them. You clearly are too big headed of a business owner and just remember who pays your bills, the customer. Good luck with all your...
Read moreReally bad experience ordering from this place. I pre-ordered a delivery to be brought at 730. At 739 I received a phone call claiming that my phone was "off" (how???) and some one had already called me 6 times. I had no missed calls, phone was on and charging. He then claimed some one had waited outside for 20 minutes. I explained that my apartment is down the side of the building. I was told that if I didn't go out front, the driver would be instructed to leave with my food. I explained that I would not be going outside in the snow in my socks and pajamas to find the guy. Back and forth for a minute before I was hung up on. I called back and was told the driver would come down the side so what was my problem? I still don't understand why he lied about calling me and while the driver was hanging around my apartment for 20 minutes. The guy came down and handed me my order plus the wrong soda (one that I sadly can not drink). I asked if I had ordered the soda and he said "yes" and showed me the order for a soda he was not holding. I explained that I couldn't drink it and he said "This is what I brought". Huh? I told him I still can't drink it and live to see tomorrow. He said he'd exchange it. 2 hours later, at 9:45, the correct soda comes. And the saddest part of all! After everything, I just wanted to eat my sandwich. It tasted just awful. Lastly, the calamari was pretty ok (they served it with cocktail sauce... the calamari, though, I'm pretty sure, is not...
