For those who enjoy a warm atmosphere within a large apartment community, a mail room spacious to hold packages and personal mail security, a business center with computers and printer, an exercise room with all new equipment, and a family room in which to enjoy residential gatherings, as well as rental space to hold gatherings of your own, these amenities are what drew me to rent at The Avalon Apartment Homes, a rent that is very competitively priced with competitors of this size within the Borough of Avalon. The apartment was the main attraction to me for its larger-than-found square footage and its virtual "step-free" environment, along with 2 new high-speed elevators to reach any floor (or which there are 9, when the interior garage is counted) and carry both people and guests comfortably wherever they choose to go. There is an on-grounds property manager and a "live-in maintenance technician" to handle any concern, and both interior and exterior areas, as well as its large and convenient outdoor parking lot (and parking garage) is kept clean and safe, making what I characterize as the safest place to live within its location within walking distance to two Municipal Boroughs of Avalon and Bellevue that house both fire and police departments, and a business district on both sides of these location.
The business district in Bellevue Borough offers grocery shopping, banking, restaurants, pharmacies, tax preparers, churches, doctors, and dentists, and within walking distance, and a few streets downhill is Route 65, Ohio River Boulevard which offers wide variaties of fast-food restaurants, gas stations, a cellphone shop and coffee shop, and a popular family restaurant, and a super-size laundramat. Also, Route 65 is less than a quarter-mile from The Avalon with its fast food restaurants and gas stations, and going South on 65, you will reach downtown Pittsburgh, within 6 miles and, 3 miles further reach Oakland and Squirrel Hill, with its major Universities, Medical Buildings, and Hospitals. If you drive North from The Avalon and drive the same 6 mile distance, you will arrive in, Sewickley and its neighbor, Beaver Township, and going 3 additional miles you will arrive in Moon Township, and abit further at the Greater Pittsburgh Airport. These points of distances and their offerings make The Avalon a convenient place in which one can live, work, shop, and eat, all within 6 miles on either side of the residential apartment building. Having been a long-term resident here, I feel there is nothing that another location would offer that I absolutely do not need. The bulding also has recently added the internet with the fastest WIFI provider in every unit so that if you do work at home, or enjoy the convenience of live-streaming films in spare time, you have that access with your smartphone or personal computer. The residents here are a nice mix of young and middle-aged workers, as well as retirees, making the community well-grounded in the current culture in which we all live. No one feels out of place or forgotten. A truly welcoming and secure place to live.
Lastly, the property is owned and managed by Morgan Properties, a leader in residential living within several states. An extra feature while living at The Avalon Apartment Homes is the ability to have one's Property Manager assist a community member when they experience a relocation need that Morgan may be able to provide among their wide array of residential styles and locations. Their website can be easily navigated as well as to the amenities each Morgan property provides and together the Manager and the member may be able to make such relocation seamless and efficient, and far less of a...

Our washer broke again (clothing got stuck in the drum) and it was fixed within a week. Any issue we've had has been addressed within a day or so. Also, there's now a bundle deal where internet is a flat fee as part of the amenity package, and we get great service for a lower price than we were paying before it became an amenity. The only downside is people who don't use internet still have to pay the fee, but for us it is a great deal.
I give this apartment complex a 2 star rating because I've had issues with getting my washer fixed. It broke in January this year and I've put in multiple work orders and checked in with office and maintenance staff, and there's been no progress. Mostly just getting the run-around for what seems like a fairly simple solution (getting a new washer or hiring an appliance repair tech to fix the existing one). My roommate and I pay the extra money for an apartment with a washer and dryer included, but for the last 5.5 months we've been paying an additional $2 per load to use the communal washers in the building because the washer in our apartment still hasn't been fixed. I've talked to many staff, sent emails, and placed work orders about this but no one has gotten back to me with a solution, and the spotty, unreliable service is making me consider not renewing my lease next year. It's too bad, because there are good things about this complex (good location, many walkable stores and restaurants, in a safe neighborhood, etc) that are being overshadowed by the lack of trust I have in them treating me fairly and compensating me for what I pay in rent. It seems like they're willing to take my money but not so willing to help me out when one of their...
Read moreI've got an ice bath that was leaking into a storage unit below me. I admit fault with this but was threatened with an eviction over what management determined to be a hot tub. An entire hot tub in an apartment complex. I have no idea how anyone would get a whole hot tub into an apartment but the fact that there wasn't a warning before this, the notion that I was straight threatened with an eviction if this wasn't removed is what irks me. I've tolerated a chronic leak from the upstairs apartment for months, along with excessively noisy neighbors, and a gas leak that resulted in the apartment complex getting evicted. These noise complaints have persisted for months but management is unable to do anything aside from turning a blind eye to the issue. The time that I cause an issue which immediately results in an eviction threat is what makes me dislike the management here. This apartment complex will spontaneously decide to shut down the water supply for the whole apartment and just conveniently let residents know the night or hours before. There are biannual inspections which are conducted on minimal notice. Rent chronically increases with no betterment of apartment resources afforded to residents. They've now got residents locked into a mandatory internet contract with Xfinity where they're overcharging monthly. I get internet through Xfinity cheaper already than what they're charging residents monthly. Once they threatened to make the entire apartment complex smoke free if people didn't smoke farther away from the entrance. The complete hypocrisy of management treating major inconveniences to residents as if it's nothing then threatening to evict someone who pays their rent on time and has caused no other issues is what makes me highly not recommend this...
