Starbucks Coffee Company — Restaurant in Avalon

I think this location needs to do better. At least the location is changed on the app to Avalon instead of Bellevue. Not sure if their board inside by the bathrooms has changed yet from Bellevue to Avalon. The last 5 or so times I’ve ordered an iced chocolate shaken almond milk espresso, there’s no way there’s chocolate malt powder in it or they’re cutting corners or improperly trained. I had ordered this drink multiple times months ago when they opened and it was fine. Please refer to the photos. The first photos are of a drink I bought yesterday and the last are of the exact same drink at a different location. See how there are specks of chocolate powder everywhere and the color is much darker? My drink yesterday tasted like plain iced coffee and today it actually tastes like chocolate, the flavor difference is immediately noticeable. It’s only this location that can’t seem to get it right anymore. I spoke to management yesterday and she suggested I order it with extra powder, a different size (I’ve ordered all sizes), or order something different altogether (not helpful). When you work for a brand, the drink should taste the same between stores and between sizes. There has to be consistency. I like this store, but they need to have more training/attention to detail. They could also use a few more staff, for such a large store, I often only usually see 4 or less people working. There are typically 3 people at the tiny Target location and comparatively, this location is on a major commuting road, so expect longer wait times. I think the drive-thru gets priority because ordering ahead is a bit of a nightmare. Add at least 8-10 minutes more to your expected pickup time. At stores where I see around 6 or so people working, everyone is far more cheerful, drinks are made well, and the wait times are short. This location (technically in Avalon although it appears as Bellevue on the Starbucks app) just opened on 01/21/2022. I just returned home after patronizing this location for the first time on 01/23/2022.

I placed a mobile order in advance and picked it up at the drive-thru. The associate/partner I spoke with and interacted with was very friendly and bantered with me about how their opening weekend was going. My fiance has not yet arisen to try his beverage, but my drink (flat white) is awesome!

It was still pre-dawn when I arrived, so you can see into the well-lit cafe area from Route 65. I slowly drove up to the drive-thru (it wasn't busy) so I could peer inside, and it looks beautiful and inviting.

We typically make our own coffee at home now, but when we need a Starbucks fix we will come here since this is technically the closest one to our home now in the Brighton Heights area. I used to love Bean Thru but stopped going when they were continuing to operate unmasked during the worst of the pandemic, which I thought was irresponsible. I went through the drive through and ordered a Venti Caramel Macchiato and a Venti Caramel Apple Spice. Macchiato came and a few minutes later, the girl at the window hands me a drink and called it an Apple Crisp. I told her I ordered a Caramel Apple spice and she looked at me blankly until I described how to make it. She left and then another girl came and told me I ordered an Apple Crisp. I told her I didn't even know what an Apple Crisp was and that I ordered a Caramel Apple Spice. Several minutes later, the first girl showed up and handed me a Venti cold white (looked like all milk) drink. I said hat the Caramel Apple Spice is a hot drink and is apple cider, cinnamon dolce creamer with caramel. She left and a few minutes later a man showed up and asked if I wanted a Caramel Apple Spice. I said yes and they asked me to go to a parking spot. Several minutes later, the first girl came out and handed me a Tall hot drink and apologized. I ordered a Venti...but at this point I had already been there...
