Quincy's Original Lobster Rolls — Restaurant in Avalon

Lobster rolls- delicious. This is what the place promotes and they do a great job. I had the classic lobster roll. Ample amount of meat that is seasoned nicely and garnished with chopped chives giving nice flavor contrast. A squeeze of lemon brightens and brings out the flavors. Bread is a lightly toasted split bun that holds up to the sandwich. My issue is the bread shape; the taste is great but the cavity that the meat goes into is too small. Now this seems to be my lobster roll issue in general not just with this establishment. My wish would be the same style/type of bread but with a deeper or wider pocket to contain the protein. First world problem, I understand. They also have a $6 upcharge to get and additional 50% of meat. That would definitely warrant a fork to eat!

Clam chowder didn't seem homemade and a lot of the flavor was muted by the flour. Many people desire that thick chowder that will hold a spoon vertical. I want a delicious chowder that marries together all the flavors of the soup.

Mac & Cheese - big serving, properly cooked pasta and a lot of cheese. Was looking for some seasoning, salt pepper, Old Bay, hot sauce...... something to kick up the flavor.

There are 4 tables to sit at. Only 2 had umbrella's. Maybe 4 umbrella's wouldn't fit. Not sure but when the sun's out, it would be too much to eat without shade.

Delicious sandwich. Probably would have benefited from some melted butter. Fair amount of lobster for the price. For a quick lobster roll at a convenient location in Avalon, it's an excellent new option. Got two regular and one jumbo but they looked pretty similar to me but my wife said the jumbo was a great value and she's always right. Great window order and pick up walking distance from the beach with some outdoor seating options as well. I ordered a hotdog and ate it there and took the jumbo lobster roll to the beach. Hotdog was big and hit the spot. The lobster roll had a nice toasted bun and was loaded with fresh lobster but it wasn’t dressed with butter nor mayo leaving it quite mild in flavor.
