I was in Avon a few weeks ago, and didn’t know where to go for lunch. I googled local restaurants, and am I very glad that this restaurant popped up! Now, I’m originally from NYC, and know good, authentic Italian restaurants. Amici is one of the very best restaurants of this cuisine that I’ve ever been to. The food is great, the holiday decor just right, and the service impeccable. I am looking forward to going again.
UPDATE JULY 2024 Spouse and I have been to Amici several times, and have always enjoyed the food, the ambience, the whole experience. The food is great, but many restaurants offer good food. What sets Amici apart is the level of service offered by Sedona, whom we have always had the good fortune to wait on our table. She is perfection-friendly without being intrusive, and is constantly walking by to make sure that all is as it should be. Sedona goes that extra mile to ensure a terrific dining experience
UPDATE MAY 2025 Spouse and I had lunch at Amici on Saturday, May 24, 2025. I am very, very happy to report that Amici is even better than previously commented. The food is excellent- (I had the cod with spinach and spouse had the shrimp with pasta, and we shared the garlic bread-very cheesy! in the best way possible) and the service by Sedona was impeccable. One of the best things about Amici is that you are not rushed, unlike other restaurants where you are expressly or implicitly on the clock. Do you know what I mean? Those restaurants that either inform you of your time limit for dining, and it's your problem if the kitchen is backed up-too bad for you! Your time here is up! Or restaurants that implicitly rush you by presenting the bill while you are still finishing the main course, and wondering about dessert. Amici paces the courses so that you actually get a chance to savor the food instead of gulping it down, have a chance to converse with others at your table, and actually enjoy the experience of eating out. The courses are paced, so you are neither rushed nor or you sitting wondering if the food got lost on the way from the kitchen. On the other hand, Amici will accomodate you if you only have so much time to spare-just tell your server when...
Read moreMy future hubby and I had a gift card for this restaurant and we used it last night to celebrate my successful Mary Kay business launch party earlier that day! OH MY … it was such a delicious way to cap off an already amazing day!! To start we had the most tender, sweet, lightly breaded and delicately fried calamari with two dipping sauces. Our main entrees were served with options of salad or soup. We both chose soup, he had a traditional Italian type that I can’t spell!! I had French onion and we both were pleased. Our entrees were Nona’s Shrimp & Scallops and I had Chicken Christina. The portions were generous but not obnoxious, the food was fresh and the proteins were cooked perfectly, and the food came out in a timely manner. Our server, Ben, was on point with his service making our celebration and dining experience even more special!! Any server that knows the menu like a favorite novel is usually a good sign of 5 star service!! When your server replaces your drink right at your last sip and you didn’t have to ask for a refill … 5 ⭐️ service … taking away your meal to box it for you … 5 ⭐️ service … bring the check and receipt in a timely manner … 5 ⭐️ service!!! 💫💫💫 The only “complaint” was from my man, there wasn’t any pepper on the table!! Ben explained they do that so they provide that experience for the dinner to have fresh cracked pepper over the pasta along with the grated cheese…agreed!! But he wanted it for his soup, and I’m sure if he asked for it, Ben would have obliged!! I wasn’t a huge fan of the 1980’s oversized style booths; but to me it’s similar to when I show a real estate client a poorly decorated house, I always say, “bad decor can be changed look at the bigger picture” … I can look past a few ugly booths because it’s the delicious food coupled with 5 ⭐️ service that I’ll be going back for … It was so good that in the future I’d even be willing to sit in one of those ill regarded booths!!!
Thanks for such a great first impression Ben & Amici crew … I will definitely be adding this restaurant to my list of 5 Star Service providers that I share with my Keller Williams and Mary...
Read moreMy fiance, mother in law, and I came in tonight for dinner before a movie at the Avon location. Our server, Nate I believe was his name, was quiet but very polite and helpful. My mother in law got the pork chop, my fiance got the scallops and risotto, and I got the garlic rubbed New York strip, which each came with a salad. I subbed out the house salad for the arugula. I asked for no cheese and it arrived with cheese, but that wasn't a huge deal breaker for me, I ate around it. My fiance subbed his salad out for the harvest salad which he loved, but there were cucumbers in it that weren't mentioned on the menu. My mother in law loved her salad. She also very much enjoyed her pork chop, I thought it was a little overcooked as it was dry.I loved my steak, it was cooked to a perfect med rare, I just wish I had more than 4 spears of asparagus. My fiance's scallops were fantastic and very large, but it did not mention that there were mushrooms in the risotto, which hes not a fan of (no worries, I ate them). Mom ordered a margarita on the rocks and my fiance had a Manhattan on the rocks, both were very strong pours which they were happy with :) it was strange to me that the table linen was covered with a paper bag type material, and there was also silverware and garbage under the table, so they need to work on tidying up a little better. Regardless, all in all it was a great experience and I believe we will be...
