If there were any option to put no stars I would. The worst customer service we have EVER experienced!! Got to the order screen at 10:26 ordered a mocha & a McGriddle, tried to order lunch and the lady said they can't serve us lunch bc they "weren't ready yet!" so waited 4 min (with the employee asking every two seconds "what can I get started for you") my husband politely asked her to wait and stop asking bc we were trying to figure out what the kids wanted, so we waited till 10:30 & ordered lunch with the employee giving us attitude the entire time. We get to the window and pay with a $100 bill. The employee stands there with the money in her hand & makes us sit there for like 2 min then opened the window and said, "oh sorry I had to get managers approval to break a hundred." She hands us the change & receipt & my husband is like "hey my McGriddle & coffee aren't on the receipt!" The employee literally says,"sorry I'm not aloud to take orders at this window you need to go around thru the drive-thru again & we aren't serving breakfast anymore!" Seriously 😑!!! so we go to the 2nd window & a different employee starts handing us happy meals (bc we have 4 kids in the car & their hungry) and my husband was like "hey I ordered a McGriddle & a small hot mocha and I didn't get it with our food, can I order it at this window bc the employee at the other window said she's not aloud to take orders at the window" The employee turns to the other employees and was like, "hey I heard this guy order a McGriddle & Mocha, why did "employee" take it off his order?" So she was like , " okay its $4.99 so we had her the money and she's like, "I'm gonna have to have you pull up so we can cook your McGriddle" then goes, "oh hold on" an employee walks up to her with a wrapped McGriddle, and she puts it in a bag and hands it to us and asks us to pull up so she could make the coffee. So we pull up to the parking space to wait and my husband takes his McGriddle out and takes a bite just to spit it out bc THERE WAS A BLACK LONG HAIR WRAPPED AROUND HIS SAUSAGE PATTY!!! literally WRAPPED. He gets out of the car MAD as all heck, & an employee comes out with his coffee tries giving to another guy parked next to us and my husband was like "Hey are you guys serious this has a huge long blacked hair wrapped in it f-ing 🤢 " I asked her for the manager and she said she is one of the managers!! She's like I'm sorry do you want a refund!! We got a $5 refund. I honestly was scared to eat the sandwich I ordered!! after seeing what they just did to my husbands. Because for "not being ready yet" to serve lunch our food sure came out the window fast within 2 minutes. You'd think people would wanna keep their jobs, but obviously not & these employees don't even care about the customers. Unsanitary & discusting & VERY...

268th person to review this McDonalds located in the historic small town of less than 10k-- Baker City. Easy on and off of I-84. This is my 441st review.
I visit this McDonalds close to three times a year while sending or receiving kids to their best friends house 4 hours away, and have done so for six years. It's our halfway point and easy to get to. I have yet to have a good experience. The customer service is what is lacking here-- big time. Perhaps with a small pool to chose from, the customer service "skills" are lacking and hard to teach.
I watched my daughter go to the register, shes 16, and order. The order taker was nice, but when she was handed her food, it was tossed to her with no thank you, no come again nothing. My kid then asked nicely, "May I please have some sweet & sour sauce"? The lady rolled her eyes and again tossed one at her, well onto the counter. There was a 20 piece nugget! ONE sauce! Anyway, as a parent, my blood began to boil, but it was a teaching moment. I simply asked for more, explaining that we have 20 nuggets and 4 kids were going to eat off that.
Anyway, that's only one example. I have a few photos that show how the food has been prepared (poorly). In sum, it seems that this particular restaurant, or franchise perhaps, is lacking in customer service and the actual care for the customer's experience.
The bathroom is outdated and gross. The inside of the establishment is very nice and the outside is, too. I think they spared money on the bathrooms.
I'd like to see some team building here. Teach that customers pay their paycheck. I get that it's a McDonalds, but even the big dogs fall. I feel like this particular McDonalds is one bad apple and there are some exceptional...
Read moreIt was a snowy morning in Baker City, my partner and I woke up to soft blanket of snow outside our motel room window. I just had the best sleep of my life after a long journey from Portland. We had another long journey ahead of us to Denver that morning. Our stomachs grumbled…what should we do for breakfast? I asked myself. I peered out the window for options…my eyes jumped from truck stop to truck stop until finally they landed upon the beautiful golden arches of mcdonald’s. I suddenly became nostalgic for a crispy hash brown like I used to get after doctors appointments during my childhood. Bingo. We pull up to the snowy parking lot with our travel trailer. The sign on the drive through read “please no trailers in drive through”. Bummer. This meant we had to actually get out of our cozy vehicle to grab some grub. Well boy are we glad we did!! The atmosphere among the staff was joyous. They were singing along to the radio and smiles were on their faces even though they probably had to brave the snowy terrain that morning to get to work. We were grateful that they decided to leave their bed to serve the community a hearty breakfast. The food was perfectly packed in the bag…the neatest I have ever seen come from a mcdonald’s. The coffee was DELICIOUS…not too sweet…just right. JUST. RIGHT. That’s how this experience went for us…thank you mcdonalds of baker city…you started our morning the way we needed it...
