A Spiritual Journey… of Disappointment (Saved Only by the Drinks)
Taco Bell, oh Taco Bell. You glorious, unpredictable mess.
Let me start with the one shining light in this crunchy chaos: the drinks. Whoever’s running the Baja Blast fountain deserves a raise and possibly a knighthood. If it weren’t for those glorious sips of liquid wizardry, this review would be a solid 1.5 stars and a passive-aggressive Yelp rant.
Now, onto the food… ever seen those commercials where a family of six is feasting like royalty with mountains of tacos, burritos, and melty goodness for $20? Lies. All lies. I’ve ordered $30 worth of food here and still had to microwave a Hot Pocket afterward. I swear, some of those tacos are made with tortilla shavings and a dream.
Most visits feel like playing emotional roulette. Will I get my full order today? Will it be wrapped like someone cared? Will the meat actually be inside the taco instead of smeared halfway up the bag like a Jackson Pollock painting? Who knows! It’s part of the thrill.
Portion sizes? I’ve seen my Chihuahua turn his nose up at one of their soft tacos. And this is a dog that once tried to eat a paperclip.
Still, I come back. Not because I believe it will be better… but because I need that drink. That sweet, cold, fizzy liquid joy. Taco Bell: where hope goes to die, but thirst gets quenched.
Three stars. Generously. And only because the Baja Blast is...
Read moreThe staff are very nice, but they don't seem to care if you are allergic to ingredients and very nicely ask that they be omitted. We went in the night before and had to wait quite a while to get our food so we got free taco vouchers for tacos that cost $1.99 but we asked if we could use it for tacos that cost $1.69 and were told no. Then, when the ingredients for the approved substitute weren't available, they offered the cheaper option and then put cheese and dairy sauce on both of the free items after we walked 30 minutes to get the tacos... we did not notice until we opened the bag and realized we could not eat our food... and, if they gave us vouchers for the wrong order, then those vouchers are no good to replace the items we can eat. The system is flawed, and it just meant more food thrown in the trash with no recourse unless I return once again and argue my case just to get what was ordered in the first place. It's not worth the money or more time to get it fixed and dinner time has passed. This is the 3rd taco bell in 3 days to add dairy to my purely vegan order and then offer free meat and dairy taco vouchers in their place... they just say it's all they are allowed to do...
Read moreIf you're going to charge extra for the add ons, make sure it's made correctly with the add ons. Just wasting customers money when they pay extra and don't receive what they paid for. Lost about $5 last visit because of this. And if you can't make certain items because something is down then put it as not available on the menu. Which is astounding to me that it's a new location and already having issues with their appliances. Placed my order in the drive thru and got to the window only to find out that what I JUST ordered isn't available and the fryers are down. Why couldn't you tell me when I ordered that those items are out? Or couldn't be made. I know it's fast food, but it's not rocket science to make things correctly or properly communicate when things...
