I ordered from the Green Burrito menu. I always liked the menu items when The Green Burrito was introduced many years ago now. It has been several years since last visit. I wanted a meal like I use to be able to fix at home before some disabilities set in. Loved their platters. Tasted like authentic spanish/mexican food. Creamy frijoles, rice, enchiladas, tacos, chili Verde, cheese, garnished with shredded lettuce. Sadly, their menu has changed. Platters were not shown. I don't believe the drive-thru menu is their full Green Burrito menu. No enchiladas 😥. Was told they could make a platter out of any of their single menu items which was a small number of choices. I ordered a chix burrito platter and small Dr Pepper. When I pulled up to window I remembered why I visit Carl's only once every couple of years. The prices to me are over the top of affordability. That is the price for a full service restaurant without the full service. Prices continue to be steep. The food presentation was impressive given it was in a to go container. See through lid, food placement in tray appealing, attractively garnished, utensils, napkins, salsa, included. The food was above average, however I was disappointed. The food is more Tex-mex than the traditional they began with. Whole beans not pintos either, white rice with seasoning, not red Spanish rice. Showed up at 8pm to the carls on rosedale highway 2/3/23. There was noone in the drive thru, no one in the lobby. The bathrooms were closed by a large mop bucket. The women proceeded to ignore my daughter and I. Then one from the back in the kitchen. Yelled ans asked if I knew what I wanted yet. I said we do, but no rush. Then a young lady with a horrible attitude walked out from by the drive up window and asked if her Co worker counted out her drawer.. she yelled at an older women. I think she said diedra and announced that the dra×rs wasn't counter and that the girl left her key. All this time I'm still standing waiting to be helped. I asked if they were closing soon because the floor was wet and noone was I side. They said no and rolled their eyes. I asked if the bathroom would be available soon as my daughter had just finished an intense soccer match and needed to potty. The girls scoffed and said no time soon. Maybe in an hr. We took that as a cue to leave. We drove about a mile away to the carls on real. Miracle was amazing. The place was clean the food fresh. Staff was hustling. Just left here, I had to get a refund for a “gold digger” chicken sandwhich. My wife opened the box to find a fly STUCK to the mayonnaise… okay fine, show it to the manager MICHELLE, no apology, just “we will make you another one…” I finish my meal, her sandwhich still isn’t done, it’s been over 10 minutes. They said they are waiting on the chicken that takes 4 minutes to cook, meanwhile the entire “new” sandwhich is laying on the counter wide open waiting for the chicken to go inside of it. So when I ask for a refund she tells me she doesn’t know how to do it with a debit card so I explained it’s 7.99+ tax that’s $8.65 total, cash is fine. They had the AUDACITY to argue with me about a quick easy fix! They didn’t even have the gold digger sauce for the sandwhich, they just said they don’t have it anymore… with service like this I will NEVER return to this location. That whole crew had ZERO interest in getting a single sandwhich remade Or even offer to make something else. NOT ONCE did she bother to apologize even when my wife called her out on it. This is the absolute worst experience...
