Update January '25: Bunch of new trees planted now. Maybe some of the grills fixed. Seeing fewer homeless lately. Restrooms still the same. Some squirrels eliminated but many still there. Original post: like it because there's no traffic to speak of. There are a LOT of squirrels with their borrows everywhere. We let our dog off leash to chase them and get exercise (he never catches any), but he loves to run all over and chase them back into their holes. It has a couple of covered groups of picnic tables for parties, barbecue pits (old and in bad shape...bring your own), drinking fountains, and nice-looking climbing toys for the children. And of course, restrooms. It is an older park, and a few homeless people hang out there. The restrooms are not clean, and there are no soap or towels. Bring your own tp.
It's next to the Kern River Bike Trail. It's a good destination for a SHORT family biking trip: park at the Truxtun Lake lot and bike to Yokuts park. Someone rides back to Tuxtun Lake and gets...
Read moreThis park has an updated play area and i like it but it doesn’t get much recognition. It is hidden it’s Yokuts Park the playground itself looks to be clean and kept up with like it is cleaned a few trash bins here and there and trash on the floor but it’s clean at least the playground area. There are restrooms but I did not use the restrooms therefore can’t give much on that, just that as soon as you park you see the restrooms and the playground. It is dog friendly a lot of dogs today as it’s Sunday but like most parks there isn’t the doggy bags post by the trash bins. So much room to run and play our dog loves it. There are shaded picnic areas as well as unshaded. The shaded area closest to the playground has only two tables. The rest are a few back and walking distance. My kids still love the park and with a little and another on the way we will be frequently coming to parks the park by our house isn’t much so we drive around looking for...
Read moreHas a big kid area and a little kid area. Both were very exciting for our children 13, 10, 4, and 1. Was sketchy about the bathrooms because of the area and how many people not attending the park that were going in and out of there, so we just didn't even go in there. Lots of parking. And a park ranger drove by the side of the park while we were there and waved at us. Felt safe. Great scenery 👌 with the mountains 🌄 off in the distance. Nice track to run on. Watch for holes, lots of wildlife. I understand alot of people were making negative reviews about the gophers, but we loved it. The kids had a blast watching them run in and out of their holes and learning about them. It was a great experience for...
