This was my second time visiting Donna Kaye's restaurant. The first time was such a great experience I came back for more. First of all my coffee came with something floating inside of it and I brought it to the attention of the waitress. (Holly) Maybe I should have been more assertive...instead of asking for a napkin to put the floating piece of whatever it was I should have asked for a fresh cup of coffee not assuming she would offer me a fresh cup. Second of all I ordered the 4 piece side of bacon and the first two slices were microwaved to where they were almost burnt. Unlike the first time I visited Donna Kaye's the bacon was delicious and was cooked to perfection and the coffee was delicious and free from extra critters. Third of all my itemized bill was unclear and called to the attention of a waitress. Holly showed back up to tell me after going over the bill with me she was the only waitress that put numbers on the bill? The food was OK but with everything else going on there are far too many other GREAT restaurants that I can spend 34 dollars total including tip for breakfast. I am sorry Donna Kaye's but you just did not live up to my...

If you don't mind the rundown diner atmosphere and slightly slower than average service, this diner is a great place to eat.

That being said, let's dive in.

Just because this diner is a bit old and off the beaten path, doesn't take away from its charm or friendly staffs environment. Sure, the walls are a little worn and the building is old. But, it's clean, and comfortable.

Eating here really gives you the feeling that you're in a very small town where everybody knows everyone.

Today's service was a little slow. It took us about 30 to 40 minutes to get our food. However, the atmosphere and company made up for the difference. Most contributing to the delay, was the fact that this diner is completely packed. And, justifiably so.

The food was fantastic. Portions were just over normal size allowing you to eat all that you wanted with a little left over.

The location is off of main highway and in a rundown area of town. However, there wasn't too much trouble with vagrancy or riff raff.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this place if you are wanting a great home cooked style meal at a price that is justified by the quality and...

I really love this place. The service is top tier! I don't come in enough to know the employees names, but I can tell you that of the 8-10 times that I have been there, I have never had an issue. Not with ordering, not with the attentiveness of the server, and certainly not with the server's attitude. I love a place that can put me in a great mood just by stepping over the threshold. I am always greeted with a smile and direct eye contact. And the food is always delicious! I am partial to the eggs Benedict ( which you can find on the 'secret' menu... which comes printed on a menu card lol), as well as their fresh, warm, and super tasty bisquits and gravy. Oh! I can't forget the reason I came in in the first place...their beanless chili...soooo amazing! I get a bowl to go every time I go. Extra cheese and extra onions. If you're ever looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch, served and cooked by good people, this is where...

Location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. Some parking is even covered. They have plenty of outdoor seating so it's best to eat outdoors in the morning when the building is keeping everything and cool shade. Inside had plenty of decorations and set a downtown home Vive. Service was great because we were seated right away and they were incredibly friendly. Are waitress spoke Spanish and English fluently. She also had a good recommendation and offered a child's menu when she noticed that we didn't have one. She was even relaxed enough to try to give her a kid a fist bump even though he was too shy. Food was very good home style diner cooking. Decent portion sizes but filled us all up with food to spare. Most everything is cooked from whole products and from what we could tell, nothing pre-made or frozen. This means less corn. I did not have a corn reaction from eating here for those who follow me for my corn allergy.
