Visited Feng Lin on a Friday afternoon when it was not busy after the lunch hour. I called my order in from my truck and waited in the parking lot for about 10 minutes until I was sure my order was ready. My order was ready to pick up in under 10 minutes and the staff were very nice. The price was very low. However, This review is only for the items I ordered which were the Hot and sour soup, the lemon chicken, and the fried dumplings as these are the foods I love when prepared correctly. So letās begin with the hot and sour soup. I have had a craving for this for the last two weeks and I really wanted to find the perfect authentic soup blend of tofu, thin sliced pork, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, and of course the ultimate slightly āsourā broth. Let me start by saying if you ever considered getting an order of this and serving it to any small children you will definitely want to reconsider. The amount of red pepper flakes that was added to this was way overboard. As a matter of fact Iām not even sure why these were added to what should have been an authentic Chinese hot and sour soup blend. There are no red pepper flakes in hot and sour soup. Instead Szechuan pepper is used as the hot spice ingredient to taste. There was sliced tofu added to the soup, but there were no other ingredients besides an overdose of egg that was drizzled in and of course solidified. The broth itself was good. But I didnāt have enough ice water to keep swishing in my mouth to stop the burn. Next menu item: lemon chicken. The chicken was over battered but fried correctly if you like a large coating of batter fried chicken. The lemon sauce was served on the side instead of being drizzled and folded into the chicken pieces. The chicken that was filled with in the batter coating seems to be a good quality. Thatās all I have to say about that. Now for the dumplings. Do not get them. The fried dumplings left so much to be desired I canāt begin to describe. They were dry and tasteless, except for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI give this restaurant 5 stars only because my wife and kids special ordered several items like the pot stickers, the fried cream cheese and some other items. They were fresh and pretty thorough about it. The amount of food they give you is enough to feed two people! Alot of people come here I noticed and some of my co-workers frequent here. So we decided to come try for ourselves. The food is better than Panda, less expensive and you get more chinese food. If you seen Panda's portion sizes I'm telling you all are getting ripped off! This place doesn't have alot of variety but impretty sure if you ask they will cook it, just will take some waiting time. The flavor of the food is good and always making fresh batches when they run low. So we got our food and decided to get drinks elsewhere because if I remember the well drinks were pretty pricey. No refills! They have Combo A, B & C, which C is a 3 order, B is 2 order and well A is 1 order, comes with Rice and Chow Mein. But hey it's a small business whatcha gonna do... if you feel like chinese food give this place a try....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just wanted to support a local business. I remember the lemon chicken having a lemon flavored sauce on it. Wednesday night the lady kept asking me if I wanted any sauce on the side for my lemon chicken. Now i realize it's because they sold me lemon chicken with no lemon sauce. I wish she would have said that. I wasn't rude or anything. I dont know why the cook wouldnt put the sauce on it and why the lady packaging the food would just let it go. They pack up your plate with fried rice and chow mein, sure. The sweet and sour chicken just tastes like the store bought bottled lemon juice that the corn man puts on the chariot wheel snacks. Im sure most anyone will have a good experience at Feng Lin. I know I used to every time when I was younger. This was just tonight's review of my personal experience. I would have emailed the owner or messaged on Facebook, but they only have the restaurant phone number. Hopefully the owner sees this and the photo I posted of the chicken and nobody else gets served plain deep fried chicken instead of what...
