Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Bakersfield

2-27-19 We usually always love the food from what is just refered to in our home as "On" and then we GO GET FOOD!!! :). BUT... our last visit 3 days ago was not so great. The food was VERY GREASY! ODD! HMMMM. My chicken meal was greasy too, but not nearly as horrible as my husband's dinner. My hubby ordered the fire chicken plate as he LOVES hot food. Instead he received a greasy pile of yuck. :(. He hardly touched his main dish, and when he scooted the chicken to the side we could see it just floating around in a pile of greasy liquid, maybe all grease. Uhhhh. In over 32 years I have NEVER seen my husband not clean his plate, I know he was hungry too!. BUT...He left all his main dish. We would hate to take it take back up to them at the counter, but I should have.. but my mobility is terrible as I just can barely walk with devices to get to the table to sit down. call in your order they prioritize those. stood there for 30 minutes as several people, that came after me, got their food. I was number 128. they served 130 before me. there was also a guy before me that didnt get his order either.. but i was on my lunch break.. spoke with "person in charge" because there was no manager.. I demanded refund as my lunch break was over. horrible service. horrible manager. didnt even offer a rain check..will probably never visit this location if im in a rush. or maybe I'll call a half hour before my lunch. as i work nearby.. I repeat.. call in your order if you're in a rush. also, cashier filling sauce containers without gloves before and after handling money. saw her finger touch the inside of empty containers when putting away. horrible horrible...

On June 10 2022 I gave Ono Hawiian BBQ a try. Ordered the Combo Plate of Chicken and Beef on a bed of white steamed rice and salad. The man sitting next to me said his meal of BBQ Beef was 5 stars good so i was expecting my dinner to be the same. Im assuming that if people eat Fast Food on a regular basis and have little experience dining on Chef prepared menu items it defines their personal taste in American food. The BBQ Chicken was way under cooked and slimey, the BBQ Beef was no better and if both are truly Hawiian BBQ I will never be ordering this ever again as it was barely tastless at best.
