I need to respond the the angry review by Kara Lott. I was actually in the store when this incident occurred and I am a customer myself. These customers came in hostel and demanding. When the owner tried to explain that all sales were final and he unfortunately did not carry batteries the costumer became even more irate. They began shouting and cursing, causing customers to leave. At one point Kara turned to me in an angry tone asked if I was the owner. I responded no. She said something else to the owner about the toys in the store. I then I tried to explain there were different vendors in the store and the items they purchased was in fact from a vendor not the owner. The wife became hostile with me and when I called her on she tried to turn it on me. Then went back to shouting and the owner. A horrible experience happened when these people came in with the sense of entitlement and insulting not only the owner but customers as well. To be honest their actions were a little frightening. Hats off the the owner for staying calm through these. I have never had a bad experience at the store or with the owner when at the store. TOY MADNESS GETS 5 STARS...
Read moreToy Madness in Bakersfield is like stepping into a collector’s fever dream—and I mean that in the best possible way. This place has EVERYTHING: retro video games, Funko Pops, Labubus (yes, even those), Pokémon cards from every generation, sports cards (baseball, basketball, football, wrestling), action figures, anime merch, Loungefly bags, Hot Wheels… basically, if you can geek out over it, they’ve got it.
The coolest part? Multiple vendors under one roof. That means every time you go in, you’re seeing something new—like a treasure hunt, but indoors. Sure, some vendors price a little high, but honestly, it’s worth it just to have it in your hands instantly instead of rolling the dice online where shipping, fakes, or packages that vanish into the void are always a risk.
It also feels good to support a local small business instead of tossing more money at Walmart or GameStop. Plus, the staff? Super friendly, always welcoming, and they even keep movies playing in the background so it feels more like hanging out than shopping.
Toy Madness isn’t just a store—it’s an experience. If you haven’t been yet, you’re doing...
Read moreI had an awful experience with one of the owners of this toy store. I bought my twin grandsons two large battery operated action toys for their birthdays. One of my nine-year-old grandsons asked to look at an action figure behind the locked glass cabinet, the owner was annoyed that he had to walk over to open the cabinet. We went across the street to have ice cream at Dewar, and as soon as we sat down, one of the grandsons action figures quit operating. We went right back over, told him what happened, and he said we couldn't return the toy, that All sales are final. I told him that I didn't want to take it back, could we just See if it's the batteries. He rudely said no, all sales are final! He stated he has no batteries, even though he's got hundreds of toys In his toy store that are battery operated . He was very rude, and condescending! I will never go there again, and I let my daughter Know what happened. She said that they will not be returning either. He's Lost a lot of business by being so incredibly rude! I would not give this store a star, but this site...
