Rogers Jewelry Co. — Local services in Bakersfield

As a customer of over 20 years, I am happy to ‘sing’ the praises for Rogers Jewelry! Over the years, I have purchased earrings and necklaces and had numerous watch batteries replaced. The staff are always friendly, professional, and non-obtrusive.

In February 2018 my BFF Lynne and I completed a cruise from LA to Sydney. We were celebrating our birthdays, my retirement, and honoring her father’s passing. During this trip I bought for her a bracelet with light blue stones that reminded her of her father’s eyes. In Sydney we stopped in an Opal jewelry store and she purchased a lovely Queensland black opal for me-my birthstone. When we returned home to Bakersfield, she had discovered the chain guard was not strong enough. I said I knew just where to go, Rogers Jewelry! There I met Eason who took the bracelet to their jeweler who attached a sturdier chain guard. I also spoke to Eason about getting my Opal set into a necklace. He arranged an appointment with their jewelry designer a short while later. When we met with David and shared some ideas about the desired setting, he quickly sketched a concept for the setting. Several weeks later I had this BEAUTIFUL necklace that is very special as it also contains a diamond from my grandmother.

As Lynne is very active (and a bit hard on things like jewelry) the part with the stones came loose moving about the bracelet. Again, I took it to Rogers where they were able to fix the section in place.

When visiting Lynne earlier this year I found that her bracelet had gotten banged and the stone section was loose again! I brought it home to Bakersfield and went to see Eason at Rogers to have it repaired-again! They did so very quickly! And under ‘warranty’! I was able to return it to her in July on my next visit!! She was so happy as it continues to remind her of her father who passed just before our Sydney trip.

I would like to reiterate how professional and friendly Eason and the entire staff of Rogers are. All my experiences over the years, especially with these two pieces, continue to reinforce the excellent service I receive there. I have been going to Roger's Jewelry Company for many years, and have always had a top notch experience there. Girlfriends have come and gone, but the service has always been remarkable. When I finally met my soulmate, there was no question where I wanted to go. Eason helped acquire an exceptional diamond and had it placed in a beautiful setting for a great price. My fianceé couldn't have been more pleased and we are treated like family every time we stop be for a cleaning.

Roger's is truly the best Bakersfield has to offer!

Update: in the years since my last review, I've added a wedding band and an anniversary band to my wife's lovely engagement ring. For her thirtieth birthday I decided to surprise her with an upgrade! About two months prior to the big day, I met with Tasha and Eason and together we came up with a plan to trade in my wife's stone and magically double it's size without her knowledge.

When the day finally arrived, Eason texted my wife and claimed her the warranty pn her ring was expiring and she needed to come in immediately or it would no longer be covered. My wife was a little annoyed but begrudgingly agreed to set aside her birthday plans and come in for an inspection. When we arrived, she noticed the birthday song playing on the overhead but thought nothing of it as she handed over her ring to Eason for cleaning and inspection.

When Eason returned a few minutes later my wife took a second glance at her stone and noticed it was significantly bigger than it used to be. This double take was a fun and memorable way to mark her milestone birthday and the whole team came out to congratulate her and wish her well.

My wife is a hardworking, humble woman. She never asks for things of materialistic value but cherishes her wedding ring for the love it symbolizes. There's no way i could have pulled off the upgrade she deserved without some help from Tasha and Eason. This subtle and intimate celebration was the perfect way to "ring" in her thirties. Greedy and rude

As one of the few fortunate enough to not be financially impacted by the pandemic, I try to funnel any of my purchases through our local businesses to help support the community. I know that it will cost me slightly more than I could easily find online or outside of Bakersfield, and I can live with that, especially in times like these. However, this store has been a rip-off before the pandemic and continues to be so during.

As an authorized dealer of particular brands, they get substantial discounts on products and funnel none of those savings to their customers. Instead, they charge more than what you can purchase the item from the manufacturer directly. When working with authorized dealers other than this store, I can easily get ~22% discount from MSRP on this brand. I was not expecting Roger's to do this, but I know I can get this deal. The item I was looking to purchase was a few hundred, not few thousand, so I was willing to pay MSRP but was hoping for below. However, this store offered me a price higher than MSRP even after I had already told them I called the manufacturer before coming in, so I know what I would pay if ordering directly. I responded by thanking them for their time, but I would be purchasing direct. Before I could even finish my sentence, the sales representative had already turned around and walked off. The store was empty, so there was no other person that they needed to rush to assist.

This was my second attempt at trying to offer my business to them. Last year when interested in an item of much higher value, I asked Roger's to match a deal another Authorized dealer has presented to keep my business local. They weren't willing to do so. So, I bought the item at the discounted 22% mentioned earlier from another store and went on my way.
