Pizza Guys — Restaurant in Bakersfield

(First time trying Pizza Guys. Ordered via UberEats, as any time I catch wind of a new pizza place, I want to check it out.)

TLDR: Good quality, decent prices, fresh-tasting ingredients, professional business practices. Will be eating here again.

The following is what I ordered, and my thoughts:

--12" Pizza Guys Combo: You can certainly taste the freshness in the ingredients. A previous reviewer stated it was a "overpriced Blaze pizza".....if he meant that the ingredients taste fresh and the crust is light and unladen with ridiculous amounts of grease, then I'd agree. That said, I think just a slight add of some fennel seed, maybe some leafy seasonings (oregano, Basil), and a hint of salt would really add to the overall flavor, as while fresh and tasty, the end mouthfeel is a tad bland. Definitely still worth it, though!

--Cheezee Bacon Rolls: This was delivered as 9 rolls, presented almost as savory cinnamon rolls, opening the box. Imagine Cinnamon Rolls without the icing or cinnamon, but instead with mozzarella and bacon. Not bad! I'd have preferred a little more bacon and maybe a bit of seasoning (garlic, oregano possibly?), but again these tasted fresh and were baked soft inside with a nice outer crunch to them.

--8 Piece Boneless Wings: About what you'd expect. I'm under no delusions that these are never frozen, much less hand crafted and breaded in-house, but as boneless wings go, these were juicy and baked well. Similar to Papa Johns' boneless wings, I'd say, but slightly better tasting.

--Sauces: I also ordered Ranch, Mango Habañero, Marinara and Creamy Pesto sauces. The ranch is creamy and has that "just right" ranch flavor. The Mango Habañero is exactly what you'd want: sweet, tangy, hot enough to make your mouth water but not so hot as to defeat subsequent tasting ability. Marinara is robust, tastes excellent. And the creamy pesto is particularly good.

--Professionalism: These guys are marketing themselves well and ensuring that, when a customer orders Pizza Guys, they KNOW they ordered Pizza Guys. Boxes are black and sleek with their own design (no cookie cutter generic pizza boxes here!). Some of the sauces are in sturdy, low-profile ramekins. The ranch dressing has their branding on it (WITH expiration dates, for those of you trying to figure out which sauces in your fridge's condiment drawer are still edible). And, here's the best part: They send Pizza Guys PLATES! Guys, when's the last time you remember any pizza place sending plates with a delivery, much less ones with that restaurant's name on them?

I will definitely be eating here again! Well done, Pizza Guys! Wishing you much success here...

Reasons why you should come? Aside from the bomb Muncheez potato/jalapeño cheesy goodness, the cheese bread with bacon is phenomenal! But that's not all; Staff here is really really friendly, I ordered a bit of everything to try out, my sister came with me, she was still deciding what she wanted to order, I buy a soda and the employee tells me to grab a soda for my sister as well! just because! She didn't because she just isn't that kind of girl, but that was very thoughtful. The staff put my food in a heating bag while we waited for my sisters food to finish up. While waiting, we also overheard a guest ask how long the lunch deal lasted, which BTW, 9.99 for a small pan(not so small, could easily feed 2) pizza and drink; his response? for you? all day. Super thoughtful, great service. Highly recommend to give it a try! Especially the muncheez and cheese...

I had a "Create your Own" last night for the first time, for delivery, and in my opinion, this was the best pizza I've had, not only in Bakersfield but better than any pizza I've had when I lived in San Francisco! This is saying a lot. I'm a pizza fanatic, and I thought I had the best until I had theirs. I'm not exaggerating and rarely do I come back online to comment on a product or service. I had pesto for the sauce instead of the red sauce. I had pepperoni, sausage, artichoke hearts, bell peppers and mushrooms with mozzarella cheese (extra cheese). Also, the toppings were plentiful, go all the way to the edge of the crust, and what a delightful crust it was. I would recommend these guys to anyone, and I know where I'm going for future pies!...
