Urbane Cafe — Restaurant in Bakersfield

We visited the 2nd day they were open. Everything on their menu looked good. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the citrus tuna salad and the club sandwich. They arrived swiftly, delivered to our table outside. The Citrus Salad has citrus tuna, mixed greens, tomatoes, avocado, cucumbers, pickled red onions with citrus vinaigrette. Served with Fresh Baked Focaccia Bread. It comes with a small container of orange juice (vinaigrette?) as the dressing. The salad was flavourful and had a fresh citrus taste. I had the Club sandwich. It had roasted turkey, Applewood-smoked bacon, avocado, cheddar cheese, sliced tomato, green leaf lettuce, herb aioli and came with a side salad of mixed greens and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The sandwich was well assembled and flavorful. The applewood smoked bacon was great. The balsamic dressing on the side salad was some of the best I've had. Not sure what makes it differrent but next time I'll ask for extra so I can dip my bread or sandwich into it as well. For dessert,, they have fresh baked cookies. The oatmeal raisin was soft, warm and chewy. Perfect. The chocolate with white chocolate chips was very sweet, warm and chocolate-y. Very good. I am definitely recommending this place to everyone and will be back often. I wish I had taken a picture of our meals but we dug straight in. Next time I will. The food pics here are from their site. Quick Summary I've been on the Urbane bandwagon since coming from SD. It's such a coincidence that Urbane is sharing the same plaza as California Fish Grill, because both of these restaurants are so similar. Great food, service, and consistency. Will be coming back regularly

Food- 5 stars The bread is fantastic here. Fresh baked bread with solid ingredients. I always have a great experience with their sandwich favorites: the Southwest and the Cranberry Brie

Service- 5 stars Good service as expected during a recent opening. But always get excellent service at other Urbane locations, so I expect that good service to continue

Value- 5 stars Compared to other sandwich shops like Sequoia, you're getting pretty excellent value by having pretty large portions for around $10

Bottom Line As with many chains in Bakersfield, Urbane Cafe quickly jumps in popularity due to its good food, service, and consistency. It will definitely be in my top 5 quick food spots in...

Delivery

Site way too difficult and time consuming trying go order food online. I've never had such a hard time navigating a site to get food ordered online. 😕 hungry and taking an hour on the site trying to order food just truly frustrated me. Smh

After putting all info in I end up stuck on trying to figure out why place order wasn't highlighted. I was trying to figure out why wasn't I able to put my order in the cart. After an hour it was all because I had too many characters in the notes. Lol . They should have it where you can't write past the Character limit. Multiple people couldn't figure it out making us look slow lol....
