The place is such cute little barbecue and meat place. It’s designed beautifully. The prices are average for barbecue, the outdoor seating is my favorite. I had the brisket combo plate which comes with two sides and I got to try the potato salad and the mac & cheese. The potato salad was good. The mac & cheese was one of the best I’ve had. It’s similar to salty and that it’s a bit zesty and has that same kind of flavor but the noodles are better and the cheese is better. Best macaroni and cheese. The brisket is the meat I chose, but they also gave me a hot link on the side. The hot link was so delicious. It wasn’t just a red hot with like cayenne in it, it had a lot of Tenderness and the skin was crisp and the flavor was amazing. The brisket tasted great. I came literally five minutes before close so I got some dryer pieces because obviously it was the end of the day. Even then it was worth it. The brisket is Cook cooked correctly on a smoker and seasoned correctly. It was good. I only took away a star because I came at the end of the day so half of my brisket was not moist, but it was still enjoyable to eat. And the pieces with fat or the pieces that were not dry were just as good As any good barbecue place. For two people to get a combo plate and a drink was around $58 but they have cheaper options even burgers. They also have a butcher right in the restaurant and a case of drinks that’s really impressive. The staff was exceedingly friendly and some of the best service I’ve had in Bakersfield. It has a really good...
Read moreGreat food, great staff! Very friendly and knowledgeable about their meat. Best BBQ I have had in a long time. If you're trying to eat gluten free, I recommend any of the combo plates minus the bread roll. I had the tri-tip and chicken which comes with salad and chili beans, and I could not eat it all. We ate on their back patio with our large family, which afforded us comfort and privacy. The soda, by the way, was delicious. The root beer tastes like it has vanilla added to it! It was divine! One person in my party had the J-Lo Pastrami, and another had the BBQ chicken wrap. Both stated theirs were tasty. For a party of 6 people with meals, drinks and 2 beers, it was just over $100, so very reasonably priced. No actual "kids menu" but definitely there are options for your kids to eat and/or split combo plates or sandwiches. If they don't want to split it up, they can always save it for leftovers tomorrow for lunch! Want to make sure to mention, we checked out the prices on their meat counter and they're very reasonable. They have it all, we will definitely be back. They close on weekdays at 6pm, so make it a family date and go have yourself an early dinner. Maybe then you can go out to a movie or an ice cream after? Thanks Prime Time BBQ, for the hospitality...
Read moreAfter travelling the country numerous times and living in Texas for a year, I'm a pretty good judge of BBQ and what I had for the first time today ranks among some of the best and hands down the best in Bakersfield. I had the chicken, rib and tri tip combo plate and everything was fantastic. The ribs were super flavorful, juicy and really tender (maybe just a little too tender) with lots of smoke. The trip tip was the real winner here being juicy and tender (as tender as tri tip can be) with perfect seasoning and lots of smoke. The chicken was equally spectacular in that it was boneless and had lots of smoke flavor and juiciness. The included beans were also amazing and had a lot going on with wonderful complex flavors. One small change would be to a tiny amount of sweetness to them. The macaroni salad was very good although I didn't eat the chunks of cheese because the meal was pretty rich overall and the cheese didn't add anything. I'll give them a solid 8/10 and am thrilled to have them in Bakersfield to fill the void of truly delicious BBQ (the only other great tri tip is at Champs near the airport)....
