After living in Bakersfield for over 15 years, I finally decided to check out this museum. The kids loved it. The older lady running the desk was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. Some of the interactive models they have here do not work. For example, they have some tables with quizzes that light up the proper answer to the question asked, but when you press the button, not all the lights work. Again, the kids loved it, and that's all that matters. This will definitely be a place for me to bring the kids when we want to get away from the Bakersfield heat.

This was such a cute museum with alot of info and variety. It is on the smaller side and some things are older but it has genuine charm. They participate in Museums for All and discount for EBT snap users among other discounts. Everyone very friendly we encountered. Lots of info on sharks and native people. And a nice local dino selection and education. Lots to learn You got to really see close the taxidermy animals and they had a great selection.

This museum is so much fun and only $10 a person. There are 3 levels the main level and the 3rd floor are super cool the bottom is the kids area. There is a wind machine for $3 you can step in and feel what 78 miles an hour wind feels like. Lol super fun!! My son took me for Mother's day and I got in for free. The employee June at the front was so friendly and helpful. Must visit if you're near Kern County we visited from Fresno county.

These ladies are amazingly awesome. Its a crying shame that they don't get more business thanks to thenage of technology. If you as a parent want to spend a really good time with your kids and educating them....This definitely is the place for you. It looks like it would be amazing. Unfortunately, I was unable to go in further. It looked like it would have been a blast. So, if you happen to be in this neck of the woods...do yourself a favor and stop in. I stoppes in to ask for directions so I could get a wall charger. The eldest lady asked if I would like to charge for a few minutes. These people and most are volunteers. They could really use any and all donations. I would love to see this business prosper. You don't meet people in this world as kind as they were to me. Thank you ladies again. They didn't ask me to do this...I am taking this upon myself just as a citizen. I implore you, stop by and check them out. Not only would it be an educational experience for your kid(s) but it would be a great blessing to have that time that you will never get back to spend time with the kiddos...even your teens!!! They have live animals and it looks like quite the...

Back in the year 2003, and early in the year then, I worked here as a no-pay Volunteer Docent for a time, I was age 35 at that time, and I then had a Mentora. I enjoyed my duties there, however, I am now age 53. I obviously no longer work there, and I am aware of the recent fire damage. Most there that I knew, and they that knew me all knew me as Chris, although Robert is my first name, Christopher being my original middle birth name.

I have begun to think some here, just now, that maybe there will be a time that the floorspace could be expanded, to include some of the adjoining suites, which were also damaged by fire. However it may turn out to be, expansion or not, it is vitally important to remember Public Safety here, and that means any adjoing businesses on either side should have at least one entryway in/out that is to/from the original museum floorspace. Fire extinguishers included, sporadically isolated throughout...

To think we almost didn't make it to this place the other day. Thankfully we were able to get there and not only see so many wonderful things but also learn so many interesting facts as well. I took all my 7 children there on a school field trip and "NEVER" would I have been prepared to have such an INCREDIBLE time! From the outside it looks to be very small and I believe that must have a negative affect on the museum, because once inside you're just blown away from all the things this place has to offer. Its 3 stories and the lower part is a kids friendly hands on museum. 2nd floor is all about dinosaurs, sharks and other things. 3rd floor is all about rocks and ancient civilizations. If you're looking for somewhere inexpensive yet intriguing and delightful to bring your entire family then, "THIS IS THE PLACE!" Not to mention their entire staff and crew were just as amazing!!!! * HIGHLY...
