Sweet Bites N Ice — Restaurant in Bakersfield

My sister and I went here recently to order some churros. We placed our order online at 9:53 PM because we know that sometimes there can be a wait. Our estimated pick up time was 10:23 PM. We arrived around 10:15 PM and decided to get off the car and wait at their tables. We were order #283 & #284. We heard them call every order from number #278-298. By this point it was already about 5 minutes past our pick up time and we were worried that they had maybe accidentally skipped our orders. My sister went to go ask the girl at the window about our orders and she said that she saw them and that she was going to start working on them. 10 minutes later at 10:38 PM we finally received our orders. Waiting over 40 minutes for some churros is absolutely insane and unreasonable. To make matters worse my churros were not even warm. They were cold and hard. I thought after waiting so long at least I would get some fresh churros but I guess my expectations...

Wow! What a delight to have found this spot. We got the banana pudding funnel cake and a churro. The banana pudding funnel cake was delicious in every bite. The size is pefect to be shared with someone, my wife and I shared. Ice cream is an extra cost to add to the funnel cake. The churro was small in my opinion for $3, so it's not something I'll purchase from here again, plus I forgot to ask if it was made fresh, which I usually do for churros. I won't dock a star, because it was something I learned for next time, and the banana pudding funnel cake was amazing!

There was one person taking orders, although they have a way to place your order on a kiosk just outside the ordering window. Although, while eating our food, we noticed the kiosk became the only way to place an order as it got busy.

Really tasty. Friendly service. We ordered the Crazy Bananas Bubble Waffle, Oreo Sundae, and Strawberry Horchata.

The sundaes were fantastic. We both picked vanilla ice cream. The bananas were sweet and ripe, the toppings were amazing on the bubble waffle. The waffle was fresh, fluffy, and light.

The fried oreo sundae was great. The hot fudge was rich and chewy. Oreos fried to perfection.

The strawberry horchata tastes like it was made with real strawberry. We probably wouldn't get it again. It was okay but the cinnamon and strawberry together wasn't our favourite, plus there are so many other flavours of aguas frescas y horchatas we want to try!

Our only mistake was getting hot & fried items with ice cream and sitting outside in the heat. It was a race to finish the ice...
