I want to start by saying it's very hard for me to leave a negative review. I understand people have bad days and things just happen. I have been to Tahoe Joes a total of 3 times and the first 2 times were good but the 3rd time was not only bad, but it was the worst dinning experience I've ever had. I went to Tahoe Joes on 2/19/24 around 3:30pm and sat on the patio because I have an 11 month old and a 3 1/2 year old and sometimes they can be a little loud. I first went into the restaurant and asked to sit in the patio area and I was guided to the area. My girlfriend and I sat at a table that was not clean, I used a white cleaning rag that was laying on a table nearby to clean our table. We sat down and waited 10 minutes before someone came out to take our drink order. After we received our drinks we were sitting there for 30 minutes waiting for a menu to be brought to us. Eventually I got up and walked into the bar area and asked for menus and I was instructed to grab them off the racks on the wall. After 20 minutes our waiter came out and apologized and stated "I'm sorry there was an incident with the managers" and proceeded to take our order. As we were ordering he was somewhat zoned out and there was an awkward silence in the middle of our order. We received our food within 20 minutes but had to ask for utensils and napkins. We ordered the meal for 2 and I had asked for my steak to be medium well, and I got well done. That was very disappointing. The meal for 2 comes with a dessert and I didn't realize until I was home that we did not receive that, also very disappointing. Overall i was very disappointed and will not be back, unfortunately. I've already recommended Tahoe Joes to friends but I will not do so anymore. The bathrooms were very dirty and smelled of urine. A few tables on the patio area were filled with dirty plates and glasses the entire time we were there which was 2.5 hours. Very...
Read moreWe wanted the family to go to a nice sit down restaurant, have a good meal and then go home and relax. Instead we went to Tahoe Joe's in Bakersfield. I decided to give them one more chance (for the 2nd time). We used to love going there. Food was great, staff was a pleasure. About 2.5 years ago we went and the food was terrible. I paid the check and left. About a year later we went again. Again the food was terrible. I felt like I threw away $125.00. Also that time the waiter was a complete jerk when we let them know what was wrong. So to today's visit. We asked to sit outside even though there were hardly any patrons there inside. The hostess said we could go back and seat ourselves. We go to the patio and nearly every table was a mess with food and such. I asked for a busing. We waited and no one came so my self and another party cleared tables for ourselves. When we finally did get our dinner, it was a joke. I got the steak and pork chop combo( my norm) she also asked if I wanted the mushrooms and gorgonzola. Sure. (I thought it was part of the combo now)(I paid for them) my wife had the fish tacos, one kid had some zesty pasta and the other a cheese burger. Ok. Out of all of this, the pork chop was very good as were the mashed potatoes. The steak was more chewy than a pack of old bubble gum. The pasta tasted good but was drenched in an oily substance. The burger felt like it had been under a heat lamp for a few hours. The tacos, over cooked and had a bitter taste. They did remove some of the bill but was given attitude in return. Got home but no relaxing time. Instead, I have been camped on the toilet and the rest of the family has been bowing to to porcelain goddess. I tried to give them another chance but now, I will never go back. I know this is a long winded review so I will end it now, I feel another round of death...
Read moreCame to celebrate an my wife's new job. It was slow, so we were right away. We had just sat down when the waitress came for our drink order. I told her we wanted to look at the drinks, and she said ok and gave us a weird look. We ordered the large order of Railroad shrimp. We got what looked like a half order. I just let it go. I ordered the T-Bone steak medium rare (cost $47), the wife got the full rack of ribs, and our son the grill cheese sandwich with fries. The grill cheese and fries were right. The ribs were a bit over cooked and dry. My $47 t-bone was not medium rare. It came out and the color of it once I cut into it was grey. Yes, grey. The taste was not good either. I only had a few bites. Also, we had to ask the waitres for the buns, she looked bothered when I asked for them. I kept seeing all the other waiters getting them for their tables as soon as they sat down. Towards the end, I asked for 2 boxes for my and my wife's leftovers. Waitres just dropped the box off and walked away. We then had to ask for a bag and she gave us a cheap plastic bag. I found it weird because se was so friendly with the older couple on the booth in front of our's. When they asked for a box, she brought along a nice paper bag for their food. I don't know if it was cause they were older...... or hate to say it, but maybe Caucasian and my wife and I are a mixed family. Either way, we got poor service and food. Our entire family as a whole usually visits this location about every other month, plus we have a 15-20 people holiday dinner every year. We will NOT be coming here for this year's holiday dinner and will not come to celebrate any other occasions. Hostess was kind and welcoming Total bill for 2 adults and a 5 year...
