Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 just because I liked the food. The service on other hand was atrocious. I had ordered the chicken friend steak $18 it come with biscuits and gravy. I was told when the food arrived our waitress will bring the rest. Our waitres was busy with another customer (im guessing her significantother the way she sat down practicallyon him when he came in). So I waited 10 mins for her to be done she passes by, I ask for my biscuit she said oh they are making them. I say okay I can wait no problem. We eat our meal. We even order food to go. And still no biscuits I ask again she says still not ready 40 mins later. Then we speak to another waiter he tell us they currently don't have biscuits. But our waitress has been telling us they are making them. So I'm upset at this point I payed so much for part of the meal not be ready. What upsets me is if they would have been honest with me I would have ordered something else not so expensive. It was a waste of money and to get lied to it's a Big No for me. I won't be going there again service is not worth it. It's not the first time I've had a bad experience with the service there but I return because of the food. But no more I won't put myself in that situation again I'd rather spend my money somewhere I would be treated properly and...
Read moreAvoid District Café. We waited 1 hour to be seated and another 1 hour and 18 minutes for our food. They sat a family inside that waited for about 10 minutes. They apologised and accepted their mistake They told us the wait would be even longer if we decided to wait. We decided to seat outside instead of leaving because we were hungry. We got soaked from their mist system (it wasn't as hot) and so did our food get wet. tri-tip was cold and dry the chilaquiles (today) were made with marinara, and they ran out of country potatoes. We were asked if substituting for hash browns or fries after waiting for one hour for our food. (That meant they were barely starting to put our plates together. That same waitress in our past visit, accidentally hit the orange juice and spilled it on my husband. Service was horrible and they still automatically charged us $26.28 gratuity. After seeing how my daughter in laws steak and cheese sandwich was falling apart (they made uneven cut) the bottom and top bread were cut separately, top bun cut longer than bottom bun, dry hash browns, dry tri tip, dry chili cheese beans and bad service, I will never go back. This place has pretty good flow of customers because of their prices but with the type of service provided, I doubt it will stay in business for many...
Read moreVery very long wait time for mediocre food. The waiting area was full with people standing, blocking the bathrooms, kids running around and into people, even though there were a bunch of tables open. The wait time was 25 minutes to seat the two of us. We eventually got our food and they didn't bring the salsa I ordered. I had to ask three different people for the salsa before I finally got one. Once someone finally brought it, about ten minutes later, they said they wouldn't charge me. Which they never said it was an additional charge in the first place.
I saw other people have to get their own syrup, silverware, etc. One person waited in line again to ask them for silverware. Which really says something about the service here.
The chilaquiles were ok. The veggies, meat, and sour cream were kindof in clumps and not consistent. Maybe we have to mix it ourselves.
The bakersfield burrito was mediocre. Nothing special.
The salsa macha was ok but it had an overpowering anchovy taste to it. It wasn't bad but it overpowered the flavor of whatever I was eating with it.
All in all, I will not be returning. I would not recommend this place. I should have just went to the brunch buffet...
