LB Cake Stop — Restaurant in Baldwin Park

Placing an order over the phone was basically impossible. I called 3 times. Coworker called twice. Boss called once as well. Six calls and still had trouble ordering. Got hung up on twice. One call they said they’d call back. One call they said they’d text us back. Never took payment or even confirmed the order. Never even finished placing the full order, I barely got to mentioned one of the two cakes we wanted. Then they randomly texted us saying the cake was ready when we never even knew if the order was placed or not. (Plus it was ready AFTER we had already gone home for the day) Confusing and frustrating experience. Since I never actually got a cake I can’t comment on the quality of them. I can only say that trying to order two cakes was an impossible task.

Update...... I normally don’t post reviews (2 total to date) so I did not see the response from the owner. If I could go lower then 1 star I would. How dare you accuse me of being a liar. Or not a real customer. I still remember that day very well. I remember my coworkers and I in disbelief over the struggles to just order a cake. So much so, that my boss called and tried ordering because he didn’t believe us when we told him how difficult it was. He wasn’t able to place an order either!!! We also specified, or at least tried, to specify when we needed it by. You did call us, AFTER WE WENT HOME FOR THE DAY. So of course we ignored your call. We no longer needed it. Horrible customer service. And reading the owners response just confirms what I knew all along, she does not know how to interact with customers. And there are other reviews stating the same thing. Customer service still gets 1 star! And just a reminder to those reading this, I never tried the cake so don’t know the quality. I just know you won’t be treated right!! The owner...

I wouldn't even want to give this place a 1 star. I was recently looking for a bakery to make a last minute customized cake for my father and I found this place. First timer here. I wanted to stop by to check it out since I saw on Google that their cakes looked very nice. When I approached the building I saw that I had to ring the door bell. When I rang it, I was approached by an older woman who opened the door and said "Can I help you?". I said to her "Hello, may I please step inside to discuss about a customized cake for my father?" She gives such a horrible attitude and says " No, you can't come in we're closed, what do you want?".(Hours online say they close late and this was around 3pm Monday). I was like "Wow, well.....I would like to discuss with you about making a customized cake." She says "we only do online orders it's to late, I'll see if designer wants to see you." I said "ok, thank you". (Mind you im waiting outside this whole time). A young woman comes outside with attitude just like the older lady and says to me "we don't do last minute cakes, we only do online orders. Heres the website to order cakes". Out of respect I said "thank you" and walked to my vehicle. These women shouldn't even run a business with that kind of attitude towards customers. They are very rude!. This place is horrible the lady there at night is beyond rude. She complained because I used my keys to knock on her door. Instead of being respectful about she gave me the customer attitude. The only reason I used my keys is because they are always I.lm the back hanging out and I usually have to knock for 5 minutes just so I can get their attention so I used my keys to knock louder. I respectfully told her that I was there for an order and she completely ignored me and with attitude requested for me to not knock on her windows I said I was sorry about it and she said next time don’t be so blind and look at the door bell next to the door. But that door bell wasn’t there before it’s actually new. How do you come at a customer like that??? Let me teach you something. Next time say hello good evening for future references we now have a door bell that you can use. I would’ve been like okay awesome but no the lady came at me disrespectful. To top it off she wasn’t even wearing a mask. What a way to run a business imagine your cakes being made without them wearing a mask. You should take more precaution during this pandemic.
