Mizan Pizza — Restaurant in Ballwin

We tried Mizan for the first time today. We got the cheese pizza and some honey hot wings. First, while they didn’t give me much information about total or when it would be ready, only, “it will re ready soon.” It was very quick, so A+ on the speed! The wings were HEAVILY breaded and were soaking in sauce. For big fans of wings, I’d skip these. The flavor of the sauce was good but too much breading and soggy from the excessive sauce. The pizza was really the biggest letdown. The picture online showed fresh mozzarella. It came as about the most basic cheese pizza, with just a mild taste. Nothing to rave about. This was my first time trying Halal pizza. I ordered a small Margherita and Chicken Shawarma through DoorDash. Delivery was lightning fast and the pizza were piping hot when they arrived. Both pizzas were baked perfectly, the crust on both crisp with a nice crunch on the outside with the perfect balance of soft inside, and incredibly flavorful! As I type this I am eating a slice of the Chicken Shawarma pizza and it is delightful! The flavors are so well balanced and they are very generous with the toppings! Pickles on a pizza! So good I had it a second time within 2 days of first having it. Criminally good. The crust/dough alone is better than many pizzas I've had. Add in the perfectly balanced sauce, amazing cheese, and perfect topping proportions and it's a total knockout. And if that weren't enough, staff is super friendly and helpful, and prices are incredibly reasonable.

Plays more to a NY-style lover's kinda pie, but a unique thing in its own right, and so good that it's worth a try no matter your preferred style. Will definitely be a regular go-to for us...
