I usually order from here when we order Chinese. I have never been disappointed but today I am very disappointed. I spent $70 and one of the combination platters I got was beef and broccoli. The beef was very soggy and didn't look like beef at all, it was also pink when I bit into it. It was so rubbery soggy gross-looking that I couldn't eat it. I called to make them aware because I just dropped $70 on dinner from there and the lady who answered told me it's because it is the kind of beef that they use it's a good beef and they don't overcook it because it will make it rubbery. But it was rubbery and gross that I couldn't even eat it. I have never had beef and broccoli where the beef was like that. I'm actually disgusted thinking about it. On the phone after I explained this and she gave me the explanation that was just the resolution to the problem I guess and I pretty much got hung up on. A few minutes after that I got a phone call back and it was the lady I spoke to she said she spoke to the manager and they are giving me a credit for next time. I'm not sure how they're going to know next time because they didn't take my name or anything. I'm just very disappointed this evening with my order! Lesson learned I will never order that again from there I'm not even sure if I will order from...
Read moreUpdate 08/2025: It's almost a year later since I've ordered from China East (only because I don't get food delivered very often ) and it's just as great as the first time I ordered. I got the same thing I did last time. Everything was hot and fresh and crispy and really good! This is my number one place to go when I order Chinese food.
The pupu platter was really good and I would definitely get that again! the ribs were a little overcooked and didn't have any sauce on them but that was minor. the chicken wings were moist and so was the skewered chicken. the crab rangoons were delicious and so was the shrimp toast. The egg rolls were crispy and had a decent amount of whole shrimp in them. It was plenty of food for two people.
I would have given this a perfect five stars but I paid over $5 for an order of french fries and they were just mediocre at best. they were crinkle cut, all very short and undercooked, so I won't order those again.
another other thing is they need to send a container or two of sauce with the pupu platter. luckily I had some here at home, but it definitely needs something to dip in.
I'll be ordering from this restaurant again, want to try some of their other dishes, and have put it on my list...
Read moreChina east is THE BEST. I moved to Baltimore 2 yrs ago and have tried many many places since then. Tonight I tried China East and let me tell you, order it. Don't bother looking around. I got boneless ribs with pork fried rice, my wife got general tso and pork fried rice. We got crab sticks and crab Rangoon as well as wonton soups. My lord that sounds like a lot now.
Anyhow, the boneless ribs were so tender and not chewy or sticking in my teeth and it had a great cinnamon sweetness. The fried rice was soft and delicious. The general tso had a wonderful smokey flavor and spice to it that's so much better than the sweetness other places use. The crab Rangoon was creamy and crunchy and not the type that destroys the roof of your mouth... The crab sticks need some help but, I ordered it at 5:40 and it was delivered at 7:20 so I think after an air fry it'll be solid. The soup was salty and warm and delicious.
All in all this is my place to get Chinese food moving forward unless I don't have the option. Order here keep them open so we can all enjoy their...
