England Eatery — Restaurant in Baltimore

I have dined at England Eatery twice. The food and service were consistent both times and it’s on my list of restaurants to visit when I’m in Baltimore. I love the crabby biscuit. The first time I went I believe the menu read biscuits ( plural) so I was shocked that I paid $8 + for one biscuit. The second visit I knew what to expect. The crabby biscuit is so big you only need one. It is a huge Pillsbury grand biscuit stuffed with crabmeat ( I’ve had cheese on it once) and topped with an Old Bay and Honey sauce. The biscuit is soft with a crunch, the crabmeat is fresh and high quality, and the sauce is chef’s kiss. I also had the Old Bay honey salmon with yellow rice, yams, and macaroni. The salmon was big, cooked medium ( which I love because it was so moist), and the sauce was flavorful. The yellow rice tasted old and was oily. The yams were good but nothing special and the Mac had a taste that I couldn’t distinguish. I probably won’t order it again. We found this spot on IG and had to try it for ourselves. My boyfriend got the lamb chops with two sides and it came with rice. The lamb sauce went well with the rice making the combo superb. the sides he grabbed were the potato salad and the yams. he loved the yams but felt the potato salad was no different from a store bought. I had the chicken platter with mac and yams as my sides. I had the honey old bay wings, they were good but I wish they were a little more flavorful. The mac was good but i wanted them to have that soul food touch to it instead of a restaurant safe option. The yams was yamming my boyfriend says just like me sike nah. They was delicious. Well after seeing this place on SM numerous times I decided to give them a try on wing Wednesday. Sad to say, I did not like it at all ☹️. My kids love wings and they did not eat them at all. I ordered 15 wings : honey old bay, honey jerk, and golden bbq. The breading for the wings was all over the place and did not stick to the wing at all. The chicken itself tasted a little weird as if it may have been in the freezer for a while. I hate to give this bad review because I love supporting my black owned businesses. I am tempted to just give them another chance but definitely not ordering...
