This is one of those museums I always hope to stumble upon in a city I'm visiting: tiny, quirky, totally relevant, and staffed by mind-bogglingly knowledgeable people. It is the story of the Irish family who lived in the house and an ongoing project to learn more of the neighbors. I spent the first part of my time having a fascinating discussion with the woman who manages the museum about women's history and in particular the independence of Irish women in relation to the church, and she had so much to impart on the subject. Read moreI planned a field trip for our homeschool tutorial, but one of the families had to pull out at the last minute. Despite the change, Sammie was fine with the unexpected change and gave us a tour. She was knowledgeable about the Irish immigrants to Baltimore and taught us how to climb the stairs so that my kids were very confident in their abilities to do it.
This was a wonderful hole in the wall experience, and I plan to come back...
