My family and I recently celebrated my mother’s 70th birthday at Rooted Rotisserie, and let me tell you, it was a memorable experience from start to finish! My mom first heard about this place on the Tamron Hall Show, while I had it bookmarked after Keith Lee’s review, so expectations were high. Spoiler: They did not disappoint!
RESERVATIONS & PARKING: Booking a reservation for a large party was a bit tricky, but with some persistence, we secured one for a snowy Sunday. They have a small parking lot to the right of the building and street parking, so plan ahead if the weather’s not ideal.
ATMOSPHERE: The vibe inside is everything. Cozy yet modern, with white brick walls, warm wooden tables, and soft pendant lighting. It feels chic but welcoming—perfect for a family gathering, date night, or even just a night out with friends. The bar area is gorgeous too, with high-backed chairs and minimalist decor that adds a nice touch of personality to the space.
SERVICE: Our server, Tiffani, was AMAZING. She greeted us warmly, offered us samples of the house drink (which we loved), and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the night. She was patient, friendly, and so helpful with our large party. Seriously, give this woman a raise.
THE FOOD: Now to the good stuff: the food. We ordered a bit of everything, starting with all the small plates (yes, everything) and sides, plus a whole rotisserie chicken with garlic aioli and spicy pepper sauce. Every dish was Instagram-worthy, but more importantly, packed with flavor. • Wings: Spicy, flavorful, and balanced beautifully by the sauce at the bottom of the plate. A must-try. • Shrimp: Perfectly charred with a smoky, caramelized finish. Add a squeeze of lemon, and it’s game over. • Mac & Cheese: So creamy and cheesy with the perfect breadcrumb crust. We ended up ordering a second round because one serving wasn’t enough for six people. • Fries: Golden, crispy, and topped with truffle, Parmesan, and parsley. Literal perfection. • Brussels Sprouts: Crispy and golden with a sweet-savory glaze and fried shallots. Even non-sprout fans would be tempted. • Sweet Potato Purée: This was the only dish I’d skip next time—whipped a little too smooth for my liking. • Rotisserie Chicken: Tender, flavorful, with crispy caramelized skin. Double up on sauces if you’re sharing with a group because they go fast.
The staff even brought out tiramisu with a candle for my mom and let us sing happy birthday. She wasn’t a fan of the bottom layer, but it’s the thought that counts!
PRICING: Our total was $184.76 for six people, which included an 18% gratuity. That’s an absolute steal for the quality of food and service we received. Heads up: They’re a cashless establishment, so plan accordingly.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Rooted Rotisserie nailed it—from the food to the atmosphere to the service. Special shoutout to Tiffani for making the night extra special. If you’re planning to go (especially with a large group), book weeks in advance and make sure you go hungry! Wings, shrimp, salad, and mac & cheese are absolute standouts. Can’t wait to go back and...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tucked away in Baltimore, Rooted Rotisserie is hands down one of the best restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining at. It's a hidden gem that I'm genuinely upset I didn't discover sooner. Trust me when I say, you won't want to miss out on this culinary experience.
Let me start by addressing my only concern: they need more locations! It's simply too far from my house, and I wish I could indulge in their delectable dishes more frequently. Speaking of the food, it is absolutely outstanding. Each bite is a burst of flavor that leaves you craving more. In fact, the food is so good that I jokingly suggested they should have a designated area where you can lay down and fully savor the experience. That's how mind-blowing it is!
I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Amanda and Joe, the incredible owners of this culinary treasure. Their passion and dedication shine through in every aspect of the restaurant.
Now, let's talk about the ratings. While I'm disappointed that I can only give them a five out of five, they truly deserve a perfect ten out of ten in every category. The ambience is inviting and cozy, creating a wonderful dining atmosphere. The customer service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. And let's not forget about the affordability! Rooted Rotisserie offers exceptional value for the quality of food they serve.
I must commend the cleanliness of their facilities as well. Even the restroom, which is often overlooked, was impeccably clean and well-maintained.
When you visit Rooted Rotisserie, do yourself a favor and try their wings. They are beyond phenomenal and will leave you craving more. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
I genuinely believe that Google should recognize the exceptional experience Rooted Rotisserie provides and give them the recognition they deserve. I'm not saying this just to hype them up, as I consider myself a discerning critic who gives honest and critical reviews based on my experiences.
Don't miss out on this culinary masterpiece. Make your way to Rooted Rotisserie and treat yourself to an unforgettable dining experience. You won't regret it! 🍽️🌟 #RootedRotisserie #HiddenGem...
Read moreCulinary Experience: The braised short rib stood out, but the rotisserie chicken fell short of expectations. The aioli sauce enhanced the chicken's flavor, and other dishes like potatoes and shrimp were delightful. However, the overall menu left us wanting more, and the presentation was basic. A 2/5 for the food.
Ambiance: The cozy, homey atmosphere suits casual dining, but not celebrations or larger parties. The limited space contributes to a laid-back vibe. Unfortunately, slow and inattentive service hindered the experience, making it less suitable for larger gatherings.
Service: While the staff was friendly, attentiveness was lacking. The waitress seemed preoccupied, forgetting orders and occasionally hiding out. Exceptional service was rare, with the chef's greeting being a notable positive.
Value for Money: Pricing surprises included charges for distilled water and a fee for bringing outside dessert. Limited transparency on pricing was a drawback. The quality of the food, particularly the rotisserie chicken, didn't align with the overall cost due to the chicken supposedly being a highlight but was very dry and nothing special at all.
Special Features: The restaurant lacks unique offerings such as theme nights, live music, or outdoor seating.
Hygiene and Cleanliness: The restaurant's appearance was appealing, but some dirty utensils and plates detracted from the overall cleanliness. Suggested improvement in using plastic utensils.
Accessibility and Location: The location raised concerns among guests due to its less attractive surroundings. Parking availability varied, and parallel parking was the norm. No garage parking was offered.
Allergen Considerations: The restaurant handled dietary restrictions well for one guest, demonstrating attentiveness in this aspect.
Reservation Process: Making reservations was straightforward with no wait time; our table was ready upon arrival.
Overall Experience: Considering the slow service and various shortcomings, the overall rating is 3/5. While reservations were smooth, the lack of attentive service and menu disappointments make it difficult to...
