After reading some of the comments, I have to respond first of all, I wanna thank the female manager there coming in the door she tries to welcome everybody by speaking to you and saying hello and she knows what she have in stock in the store and on the shelf for the so-called attorney that complained about leaving his Bag With security when you come inside you as an attorney should know it’s to keep what’s in the store in the store because that there merchandise that’s how they pay bills not just to keep the store open, but also their bills at home theft is a major problem with retail businesses, especially in that area of South Baltimore if you’re not stealing anything, you should not have any problem of going in there now let’s talk about the high prices. Their prices are no different from Walmart /giant /Safeway shoppers /Weis /or Food Lion but you still shop at the markets, but you are still losing because you have to get in your car or catch the bus taxi Lyft Uber or Hack to get to them locations so you are spending money just to get there The price is that they charge are reasonable within retail sales. It cost to bring that merchandise to the location and the cost. They have to pay for it at the warehouse and it’s not cheap. How I know I am a former store owner. so it really angers me when I hear people talk about the prices at this full service supermarket The members at jumbo fresh took their time and studied the area and heard the cries of food, deserts, communities jumbo fresh could have chosen any other area in Baltimore city to open, but they chose that area for a reason and that is to help the area because that space been unoccupied since Safeway /Price rite closes doors The people of South Baltimore, Pig town area now you have a supermarket in walking distance. Be proud of that and I wanna welcome Jumbo fresh to...
Read moreOf all the things I'd say this store is the best for fresh produce, meat, and while I don't really cook seafood they got a lot of it. They also got a wide variety of cuts you don't get at other grocery stores, and also sells lard. Also if you like hispanic food they got a lot of options for that.
Personally I go there for spices, because if you cook with a lot of spice you can get jumbo containers for the same price as McCormick normal size containers, plus raw spices you normally gotta search for and pay an arm and a leg for.
Some items can be pricey, but they offer a lot of managers specials, so it evens out if you're going shopping for a lot at once. The managers are nice, and the employees will always help you out if you ask. I asked for some individual habaneros once and all they had were bulk packages. They broke em open for me and sold em to me for cheap.
Hopefully they get more traffic to stay in business because it's honestly a great grocery store and I'm surprised more...
Read moreGreat to see a market in a food desert area of Baltimore. They have a great selection of items especially fruits, veggies, and packaged food. Everyone is usually pleasant and the store is clean.
Just be careful when purchasing meats. This is the 3rd time I’ve thrown away bad meat from Jumbo Fresh.
I went shopping on Thursday 12/5/24. By Tuesday 12/10/24 the poultry (chicken legs & turkey wings) had been thrown out.
The chicken had a “sell by date” of 12/12 and the turkey wings 12/28. The chicken smelled thru the pack on Sunday so I just tossed it. But as I’m making dinner on Tuesday preparing the turkey wings the smell was rancid when I opened the pack. See pics the bone was rotting and the date listed is 12/28. That meat was on its last leg when I purchased it no way it should’ve been sold. It’s Very Frustrating buying food not knowing it’s spoiled until you go to prepare it.
Please open, clean, prepare/freeze meat from here IMMEDIATELY after purchasing! And be sure to...
