I just gave them another chance for breakfast at 7:10 a.m. on a Sunday only four cars in front of me. It took them 10 minutes to serve the cars and then my wife's big breakfast didn't have the fork, butter and syrup. I doubt McDonald's has stopped their training for how to pack bags, so if you're craving McDonald's on the York Road corridor head down to Waverly because sadly the one on Loch Raven closed due to a fire. It may be a little more of a wait but I've never had problems with my orders at the one on Greenmount closer to Hopkins!
Original Review- Just lost 15 minutes of a time that we could have spent loading the car as we're moving into the neighborhood. We were excited to have a McDonald's near our new house, but since this is the second time we waited way too long for our order we will not be back ... I just have to be grateful that there is a Popeye's chicken with really good service that's an option when we want to walk to York Road to get a treat.
We could have driven to Loch Raven boulevard gotten food from there for our movers and been back to Govans and less time than I had just waited. If you're in the neighborhood, start doing that and maybe the cheapskate franchise owner of this York Road location will hire more kitchen staff. The only reason I'm even giving this McDonald's two stars is because the poor service is exclusively because they are short staffed ... The workers try their best but the incompetent managers have a huge problem that they need to fix if they want this franchise to stay...
Read moreNot only was there black stuff in the ice when I said no ice, the customer service was nice enough. However, this McDonald's is following the trend that I never cared for and will probably make me stop going to this franchise. Theres a trend to make all of their restaurants corporate and cold, and in comparison to when I was young and play places were almost a staple, it just makes me sad.
All of the tables were dirty and the food quality doesn't match the price point anymore. I tried to wipe down one of the tables myself but there were no self serve areas for me to even get a napkin and some water. The workers have to do everything, and I'm sure for the wage they're getting, it's clear they're overworked already. I understand it's a way to save money, but at what cost?
I think the order kiosks have also come at a price of not having as much customer interaction, so when I tried to ask for a wet napkin or something to wipe down the table, it didn't translate well at all. I ended up getting some from my car and some water from the bathrooms because the sanitizer machines were empty. The workers were kind and friendly, but they were so busy trying to juggle everything, that other tasks were blatantly falling through the cracks. Food took forever to get to me and for a high price point that McDonalds is not shy about, that's not the business model I'm use to.
Fast food is suppose to be the quick and cheap way to a semi decent meal. With this experience, I might start echoing what my Mom use to to tell me when I urged her to stop at McDonald's and say to my self "We have...
