At Baltimore Pride this weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of running across this rather unassuming food table among a sea of over-large, loud mega stalls. They had a sample display of their food on the table before them, and I stopped to ask, "Is... is that a barbecue quesadilla?"
It was. And it was brisket. And it had mac and cheese on it. And it was incredible.
I was born and raised in the south and spent my entire adult life living in Memphis, the home of the best BBQ in the world. I have had Interstate, Neely's, the Commissary, the Rendezvous, Central, and more. So when I say that this was the best brisket I have put in my mouth since the original Neely's closed, please understand what high praise that is.
Were I to move back to Memphis, the chance of getting Soul Smoked BBQ somewhere would be enough to bring me back...

When you see photos on this Google page showing you big piles of sides, sandwiches stacked with meat and vegetables - just know that is not what you’ll be getting. I saw the chicken sandwich and it was just a bun with a modest portion of chicken, no toppings like is shown in the photos on here.
