I live nearby Paul Chen (5 minutes walk only). Three years ago, my husband and I first moved to this area and we had lunch once in Paul Chen. That time food was not bad but we couldn’t really enjoy in the restaurant. The environment was full of strange smell (kind of old restaurant smell ,i didn’t know how to explain) and table cloths was quite oily.
Last year they had completely new look and I would love to try once more time. However my husband doesn’t want to enter Paul Chen anymore.
After almost half years convincing my husband to go to try their lunch buffet with me, during Chinese New Year(2/6 is the second day of CNY) I chose to go alone.
I am so happy to give it once more chance!
They offered a lot of choice of food, including chinese style snacks, soups, hot stuff (main dishes), Japanese sushi (even servicing deep fried sushi😋), desserts and fruit.
I really couldn’t complain of their food quality since it was $11 only! Honestly I like their snacks and sushi more than hot stuffs, soups and dessert but once again as a $11 lunch buffet, I was satisfied of this lunch buffet.
Also, I like their new environment very much. Strange smell gone and I sat more than 1 hour to enjoy their food (with new table and comfortable chair) and finished typing...
Read moreOur delivery was delayed for more than 1.5 hours and they didn't care or even apologize. We had to call them several times for updates on our order (we started calling 20 min after it was originally supposed to have arrived), the first time we called they said they hadn't started it, they did not apologize but did say they would expedite it, so we decided not to cancel it. We called 45 min later and they STILL hadn't started cooking the order. At this point we were starving and didn't want to order somewhere else and have to wait again. The man I spoke to did not apologize or seem sorry, he simply said they were busy and had too many orders. So, why did they accept so many orders that they couldn't fulfill? Why didn't they notify customers about delays? I asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold indefinitely. My mom called them back and had the same conversation with a different guy, and she was not rude at all but simply asked him why they would accept orders they couldn't fulfill, and he hung up on her! It was crazy! We did end up receiving our order and the food was fine, but I don't trust any business that's...
Read moreThis place is wonderfully clean and beautiful, recommended by my older brother when we went there today! Food: Sushi had my mouth watering and the egg rolls and taro milk tea and seafood combo was especially delicious! The boba in the taro milk tea impresses me most due to its soft texture and easily chewy flavor!!
Service: For at first I was a bit skeptical of the place my brother recommended, because of course it was in Baltimore city. The servers were kind and helpful in every aspect of the experience here! It gave me a more optimistic outlook about what Baltimore city is really going for.
Atmosphere: Outside the restaurant is a bit shady and gray but the inside was burning with inviting and welcoming air which disproved my recent suspicions. Music was nice and simple, giving the place a lovely feeling of warmth and comfort sitting down on simple but nice chairs.
Conclusion: 10/10 would go back again when given the chance! P.S, they even have a few vegetarian options which I will definitely use if I...
