Came here from Jersey for the Indigo De Souza concert and it was amazing!! The venue was small and intimate and everyone who works here is so sweet! Our bartender Grant was very efficient and kind! Made the best drinks all night! Also shoutout to Randy (stage name “Candy”) for also having such great energy! Overall, the entire experience was memorable, comfortable, and easy-going. Highly recommend for a chill and exciting night out! The music in the bar/club upstairs was fire and the vibe was perfect! Whether you are in town or from out-of-town definitely check this place out!!!

The Ottobar has got to be the coolest place to see a show in Baltimore, and perhaps in the entire Baltimore/DC region. The Ottobar is a small(ish) venue that nevertheless books acts that usually play larger venues. Most shows have no separation between the performers and the audience, and there is a small balcony above the right side of the stage that puts you right in the middle of the action. The staff is consistently friendly and keep the crowd safe, and the drinks are reasonably priced. I make the drive up from DC without hesitation because I love the Ottobar.

My husband purchased tickets for a concert at this venue. I am 5 months pregnant and I was sad that I probably wouldn’t be able to go, because I wouldn’t have a place to sit. I reached out to Otto Bar to see if they could accommodate me with a seat so I could go and enjoy the show. They so graciously told me they’d be more than happy to accommodate me with a table and chairs not only for me but for my husband, too!! It literally was the best seat in the house and we enjoyed ourselves!!! Thank you so much Ottobar!!! We will be back!

First time to Baltimore, my trip so far has been wonderful. I needed a mental health break from my work back in Canada and this has been just that. I am very grateful for the people I know here and their want for me to have experiences and memories to remember.

They had mentioned Ottobar, really sold me on the establishment. I don’t typically go out but trying to go out of my comfort zone and have fun. I was so looking forward to going, the first bit was good. The atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed myself, it wasn’t chaotic but it was definitely busy. I had 2 drinks total. There was only 1 bartender was not impressed with his service.

I have my AGLC Liquor License back home and I don’t know what the standards are here, but he would have been fired right off the bat with the interactions I had with him. He was mad, he was inpatient, he was rude, instead of de-escalating a situation, he actually escalated it, to the point where I full heartedly believe he wanted to punch me all for the fact that I told him I have never had service like that. My card is Canadian (obviously) and I don’t have tap enabled, this infuriated him. I tried to explain that if he gave me the machine, I could put my pin in, where he continued to tell me that wasn’t possible. I then proceeded to tell him that I could just verbally give him my pin and he started yelling called me a dick and saying I was wasting his time. I’m a very genuine person, I don’t typically swear but after he called me a dick, I will be honest I told him he was an asshole. The whole experience was just poor.

Not the bouncer though. After. the bartender told him to escort me out, we had a wonderful conversation about how the bartender had issues. I let him know that that would’ve never happened in Canada and that I am very, not impressed with the experience. He apologized for the experience I had and wished me a better night.

I will be making an actual complaint with the owners as I know I wasn’t the only one who encountered the attitude he portrayed last night. How often is he like this to individuals is the real question? Grateful that my friend covered my bill as I had EVERY intention too if the bartender could have just taken a breath. Instead, he felt the need to be rude and intimidating.

I will be sure to NOT recommend Otoobar to anyone in the future who may be...

This place used to be more fun. Now, a kind of managerial rudeness or callousness sometimes emerges that makes me feel less inclined to return. Once, I was sharing a table with a stranger (one has to do this sometimes, and that’s fine), but she’d had a lot to drink and went to sleep on the table. I went to find a manager to tell them about the girl. “Quick! Get her out of here!” was the response I got. It was really cold outside, but the people at my table roused her and got her home address out of her, then got an Uber for her.

Not sure what would have happened to her if we hadn’t done this.

Also, the karaoke DJ has his equipment set up in such a way that a singer can’t move very far from where the karaoke table is, but there are no signs saying this. During my performance, the DJ came right up to me mid-song and shouted, “If you move any closer to that speaker, I’ll cut your mic!” This seemed kind of harsh. I couldn’t hear any feedback or other odd sounds where I was standing. I had had only a single glass of wine to drink, but I felt like I was being treated like a drunk, if that makes sense.

It would have been so easy to put up signs or to have told singers at the beginning of the night to let people know...

Edit: Saw online they got shut down the other night for not following the fire codes and having way too many people inside to the point some how the fire marshal was aletered about it which you can find pictures of the Carpet Company shoe show on social media to see for yourself . Yall need to do better we don't need a Station Night Club type disaster happening because with that small bar it'll probably be even more casualties than that tragedy especially since its hard to find the doors in there and its no windows like that other bar Look up the video of the fire and see how fast people can lose their life from a fire. That killed over 100 people in a matter of less than 10 minutes. So not only the below stuff yall care nothing about peopels safety in general. I genuinely would hate for a tragedy like that to occur again.

Allows legitimately racist, homophobic and misogynistic bands to perform while claiming not to allow either and doesn't step up when those incidents take place at shows here. It's also very dirty in the venue and needs...
