My name is David Smalls and I am writing in hopes of making a terrible situation go back to a suitable business policy that reflects its employees interest in good business policy, procedure, and practice. I went to the Wendy’s on Harford Road on the 18th of July 2017, and had the worst experience while sitting with my mother in this restaurant I saw nothing but dysfunction from the staff. This poured over into other allowable scenarios. Here is what I and other patrons witnessed in your business at 2045 Harford Rd, Baltimore, MD 21218:
• Unprofessional staff making inappropriate comments and reacting with inappropriate actions (Physical fights with other employees) in front of patrons as well as threatening looks, and gestures towards them (myself included). • There is a shortage of customer support as a result of having only one cashier that herself looks as if she needs medication or narcotics to make it through the rush hour. • Women from the local community coming in, playing loud music through external speakers opposed to having someone let them know through signs or verbal communication that that type of behavior is not appropriate. • After sitting here for one hour I have noticed the same staff has lacked the responsibility of cleaning off tables, ensuring that the environment is sanitary, secure, and safe. • The use of foul language is unbelievably up front and impersonal, but most importantly is their callous inability to use it without refrain, and the respect of elderly patrons like my mother visiting this store for the first time. • Mothers openly cursing their children with profane language that isn’t acceptable by most adults in the store at dining tables and while on the phone with no food from the establishment If all of this has been allowed to go on in front of the patrons then what could be going on that we don’t know about, around the food that we eat? This is beyond the management of the store because it has become unmanageable for obviously far too long. It is for this reason that I have addressed this to regional management.
What's more, there was a homeless man coming in from the heat of the day for something to eat and perhaps a brief reprieve had more respect and care for the restaurant patrons than the staff that worked for wages. He could have been my angel for that moment because I was...
Read moreNormally, I would contact a business directly, but I wasn’t given a receipt today (ordered around 3:45) so I’ll address it here. I came in for a Meal of Misfortune. I was really excited about it, especially the limited edition dipping sauces. The meal is well-named, because it was a meal of misfortune. As part of the order, someone else also had a chicken nugget meal. When asked what sauce they wanted, they asked for BBQ.
The first mistake in this meal is that they ALSO gave me BBQ sauce for my meal, when the entire point is that it’s supposed to come with specific and limited edition dipping sauces. The chicken and fries were all cooked to dryness, and I had nothing to dip them in, because all due respect to the person who did want BBQ, but every fast food chain’s BBQ is downright nasty and I would never use it. The frosty that came with the meal seemed pretty good, but I didn’t get a spoon, just a straw and it’s entirely too thick for a straw. Then the lid busted off of it in my car because it wasn’t fully attached. The lid is domed and full of Frosty, so now I have vanilla frosty all over my car and self.
I have a low bar for fast food in Baltimore. Just get my meal right, don’t give me food poisoning, and don’t overcharge me. I figured from the copious amount of promotions displayed here, specifically for the Meal of Misfortune, that they would know what I wanted. Yet when I ordered, I had to repeat myself several times and then they only referred to it as the Wednesday meal (fine), and yet they clearly didn’t know what went in it, seven days in to the promotion. I’m just so disappointed. It’s a little thing, but it was one the little thing I wanted and had been waiting for. And now I have to clean up Frosty from alol over and didn’t enjoy the meal in the least. Don’t advertise what you can’t deliver.
They did get the other meal correct, a basic biggie bag. But they were out of root beer. Didn’t ask for napkins but got about 30, which I thought was ridiculous until the Frosty exploded and now it...
Read moreWendy's food is fine. I enjoy it , but the service at the Harford Rd & Broadway intersection is like something out of a slow moving scene in a movie. I recently went to this location because I like Wendy's food but fought with myself about going knowing that they were going to be slow. It took all of 3 minutes after being rung up to have my (3) burgers fixed but it took an additional 17 mins to fix (3) fries & nuggets to go along with this order. So while my burgers are getting cold no one is dropping nuggets or fries & clearly doesn't care if a customer is waiting on them or not. This is not a first for this location. It appears to be the norm. They seem to have enough staff on duty but it also appears that no one does anything other than their station duties. I say this because the young man that fixed my burgers stood around for the next 17 minutes & did nothing else but talk to his co-workers while standing right in front of the where the fries & nuggets where located. Maybe I'm mistaken & Wendy's is no longer considered a FAST food establishment because truly there is no fast food going on there. I wonder if owners of some businesses even care what kind of service their patrons receive because nothing ever changes. Looks like the almighty dollar trumps customer service and until we demand decent service we 'll continue to get whatever they throw our way. This Wendy's IS located near (2) large businesses ( a courthouse & a social services agency) where they know the workers have a designated amount of time for lunch & if the weather is inclement will probably utilize somewhere close to eat so it's a win- win for this Wendy's , right now. A word of advice. Clean up your act before your customers all jump ship....
