Stopped into Empire for a quick brekky sandwich and coffee on my way home from a roadtrip. Absolutely the friendliest and best service I've ever experienced at a breakfast cafè; they make you feel like you're family. I had an egg and cheese on a portugese roll and my friend had an egg and cheese on a bagel, both were simply incredible! The coffee and cappuccinos were great and unique as well. Highly recommend Empire; I know that I'll be coming back next time I'm in the area. : )

When I first discovered this café, I was absolutely surprised and delighted to learn it was run by a Portuguese family. They serve authentic Portuguese pastries and sandwiches, including my all-time favorites—pastel de nata and bifanas. It brought me so much joy to know that a fellow Portuguese person was nearby, offering a true taste of home. Even better, the owner’s mother bakes on the premises, creating all sorts of Portuguese delicacies like bolo rei. The pastries are simply to die for—fresh, flavorful, and made with love.
