Last night daughter and I were in Barnegat Light and decided to try Poppys. It is a cute ice cream place but the line to get served was long for a Tuesday night. Waited 45 minutes but I suppose that this is what you have to do when you are at the northern end of LBI.

My go-to is the Chocolate Thunder—it’s rich, chocolatey, and packed with flavor. If you’re a chocolate fan, don’t skip it. The portions are generous, and they have a great mix of classic and creative flavors, so there’s something for everyone. You can get cups, cones, sundaes, and even dairy-free options.
Staff is friendly and fast, even when it’s busy. There’s a nice little outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. It’s a great spot to end the night if you’re in Barnegat Light or nearby.
Pro tip: bring cash just in case, and be ready for a short wait—but you’ll be glad you...
