Bobby Byrne's — Restaurant in Barnstable

Today is September 2, 2018. I was born in September 2, 1987. My father in law and I shared the same birthday. Our family decided to take us to Bobby Byrne's in Mashpee. My first time there and last time There. I'm here to tell the hosnest truth about this place. We finally got seated In a small corner by the the fireplace way in the back. My mother in law told the waitress today is our birthday. THE WAITRESS SAID ONLY ONE OF US CAN CELEBRATE OUR BIRTHDAY "one free birthday meal per table". Like that and on top of it she didn't even say happy birthday to us..We can afford to pay for anything in this place. We wasn't looking to get a free meal. We simply wanted to have a goodtime together...ANYWAY THE FOOD TESTED LIKE 99 RESTAURANT FOOD...THE CARROTS, POTATOES AND GREEN BEANS TESTED LIKE CANS FOODS. SERIOUSLY...6 of us at the restaurant only one person eat all of his food. Wow!!!...the waitress didnt even come by our table to see If everything was okay...CLEARLY ITS WASN'T OKAY BECAUSE 5 PEOPLE DIDNT EAT, THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLYBAD...ONE Simple MESSAGE FOR THE MANAGER AND OWNER... before charging customers for refills ( CUP OF SPRITE AND COKE) make sure the customers service and food is (TOP NOTCH) people dont like to pay for bad service...SPECIALLY FOR BAD FOOD...I will never be 31 again and I will never go back there again. All 6 of us feel the same way...really sad!!!! Its time for people to tell the truth about this place, I don't know how Bobby Byrne's get more...

I have been to this Bobby Byrnes many times and out of all my experiences I would probably give it an average of 3 stars. There have been times where I've experienced excellency at this restaurant, but there have also been times where I left disappointed. However, the good experiences were enough to make me want to come back.

The service is great when you get the right people. Like I said, I've had good experiences and bad, and that applies to the service, too. Most of the time, our server is happy to help and down to earth, but I had one of my worst experiences with a server here a few years ago.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty average and casual; nothing really stands out in a good way or a bad way. It definitely has a Cape Cod feel to it though.

As for the food, I LOVE the fish and chips. It is my favorite entree here and it always comes out crispy and perfect. Their burgers are good, too. I have also tried the baked Mac N' cheese (yes, I'm an adult and still a huge fan of Mac N' Cheese...) as well as the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. Unfortunately, the Mac N' Cheese was anything but cheesy and certainly not a casserole. I was also unsatisfied with the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo: the chicken was rubbery and the dish as a whole...

Food was good, but the service was terrible. Sat at the patio bar & took over an hour and a half to have two beers and a burger. So I'm by myself it's dinner time, & I just want to eat and get out. So I sit at the bar & wait 15 minutes to get a beer, & a menu. I quickly find the burger page, make my decision, and wait another ten, fifteen minutes before the bartender asks me if I'm ready to order (ah... "YEAH" 😒). Believe it or not it didn't take too long for the order to come, at which point she asks me if I want another beer (ah...."YEAH"😠). Now I've eaten, she takes the basket, & asks me if I want anything else. I tell her no, that's it. Now I've finished my beer, & get held hostage for my guest check for at least twenty minutes. This may not seem to bad, except that I was sitting at a tiny little bar; directly in front of the register, with a direct line of sight to the bartender every time she rang an order, & "IT STILL TOOK OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF TO HAVE TWO BEERS AND A BURGER".
