My experience with Fairfield Inn wasn't a very good one. My room had a moist or mildew smell to it. It definitely didn't smell clean at all. I called down to the front desk and she did offer to move me to another room but I was so tired from the flight, that I opted to stay. I did instead ask if there was a dehumidifier that I could use and to my surprise, they did have one.
That helped a lot. The only reason why I am giving Fairfield Inn only 3 stars is because of an interaction I had with a different front desk agent.
Upon checking into Fairfield Inn, you are given two bags of Cape Cod chips and two small bottles of water. On day #3 of my visit I believe, I asked if I could get two bags of chips. The young lady acted as if she didn't want to help me initially. I stood there waiting for her to acknowledge me because I didn't want to just walk up to the desk because she looked like she was busy. I stood there for a few minutes before she acknowledged me. When I asked for two bags of chips (which are small), she told me that they are for those who check in. I explained to her that I am not able to eat the free breakfast due to my being a Vegan.
I finally said okay and walked away. At that moment she acted as if she wanted to assist me by asking if it was possible. I believe she should've asked that first before turning me down especially since I can't eat the breakfast and I am sure that breakfast they offer every morning costs way more than two small bag of chips. My saving grace was the fact that there was a Whole Foods Market across the street from the hotel. I was also put off by the fact that in their dining area, there is a sign that states that if you have dietary restrictions please let an associate know and they would be able to try and accommodate that. When I asked an associate, I was told that while it was written, there was nothing they could do for me. She never asked or checked to see what could be done.
Overall, I didn't have a very restful or peaceful stay and I wasn't comfortable at all. My first night, the fire alarm kept going off which woke me up and I found it very hard to go back to sleep. Nothing was said and no apology was provided for that inconvenience either. I also never received a survey from them like most hotels provide.
I seriously doubt I will ever...
Read moreThis Fairfield Inn next to the Cape Cod Mall offers a pleasant and predictable experience. It is a comfort to me as a long - standing Marriott Bonvoy member to be able to swing over to the Fairfield Inn and know that we will get clean, quiet, comfortable, friendly and safe lodging for a night or two. |The staff was very welcoming and attentive and greeted everyone with a smile and a hearty “welcome back”. Sarah H. the general manager and her staff certainly know how to treat the weary traveler. The Inn has 3 floors, 125 rooms and we had a nice quiet room on the 3rd floor. The bed was super comfy with 2 pillows each for the King size bed, a well-controlled heating unit, a HD TV, a workstation desk and a large window with a view of Rt 132- a little noisy early in the morning but super quiet at night. The location in Hyannis is very good for business or pleasure and shopping. This is a location you would need a car...not a very walkable area but it has easy access to all kinds of shopping and tourist attractions in the high season. We felt safe and secure with the well- lit premises and parking lots and my husband and I both felt it was a safe area to leave my shopping purchases in the car. The hotel is minutes from 5 Guys Burgers, Whole Foods, Hobby Lobby, Target, etc. Access to Route 6 (The Mid Cape Highway is about 2 miles from Hotel.||One negative that we noticed was the nightly parking fee of $10 that appeared on our invoice. That was a surprise and I’m hoping that Corporate will reconsider this. |Maybe they could consider eliminating that charge or price up “a teensy bit” and not make that charge a line item since it just gives the negative connotation of being nickel and dimed...

Family of five here—written by the grumpy teenage sister—who have stayed in their fair share of hotels, my father is handicapped so have to have accessible as well. We were originally going to stay at South Cape resort, and after having issues with the room and pool availability (two young and energized boys need this when being cooped up in a hotel room ), we called three or so hotels and settled with this one. Although not many rooms were available due to a hockey tournament recently occupying the hotel, we got a room in the eleventh hour… clean, zero problems, and the boys were still able to swim last night! We were deciding whether to stay at this hotel or find another since one of us kiddos ended up sleeping on the floor last night, and after making small talk about our hotel jumping situation, the staff and manager graciously found us a suite with an extra double attached… one of the rooms for free. The staff at the desk were BEYOND kind to us even setting the room discount aside. Even passing housekeeping in the hallway was a pleasant experience and I was greeted with a good morning and a smile. During room switch, my father and I conversed with the manager about things to do with the family near the hotel, and he gave us recommendations as well as coupons for a few of the places. Satisfied with the breakfast as well. Pool is warm (according to brothers) and going to the gym later. Lobby is clean, rooms are too. If I could give the hotel 6 stars I would without hesitation. Hands down the best hotel experience my family and I have had. Will definitely be coming back if we ever decide to vacation here again. Thank...
