This store is the largest Mattress Firm location on the Cape - and one of the biggest between Cape Cod and the Boston metro area. It's very well lit and large, which means a huge inventory is on the floor. Bill Collins, the manager, was great. He listened keenly to what we said our needs were. He also asked questions based on details in conversations and comments we made between each other while testing various models. The more he learns about you the better he'll be able fine tune the selections of beds he'll show you. Do some research online to ask initial questions when you go into the store. Bill's answers will lead to more questions and info - questions and answers you will not get from an impersonal, online site. Beds are big ticket items, some costing a third of the cheapest electric car you can buy! We were shocked! If you can find a good sales person, like Bill, you increase the odds that you buy a good bed you can afford and that will help you sleep better. ---only caveat: as of Aug. 2024 Mattress Firm the company in its product marketing and legal descriptions tells buyers that if they find lower price anywhere else they'll give you that price. There are caveats of course, but the caveats don't mention Amazon specifically. Keep in mind you won't get a warranty for an Amazon bought bed. You won't get good delivery/set up service either. You also won't have a local retailer to talk to. There are other reasons not to buy on Amazon or Wayfair, for example. But Mattress Firm's unstated caveat in its match-any price claim is that if you buy one of the highest end brands, such as Stearns and Foster, the company will not match Amazon, which is not named in the paperwork that names the outlets and conditions that disqualify a lower price. Amazon's Stearns and Foster prices -- as much as $1,000 less -- are evidently on S&F clearance beds and "seconds" that Amazon is allowed to sell. But of course Amazon doesn't indicate that in its product description page. --I mention all of this because the match-any price claim is the only aspect of my otherwise great experience that doesn't live up to a standard set in the customer experience. If Mattress Firm just named Amazon or Wayfair, it wouldn't have made me have a...
Read moreIslander beware... My boyfriend and I stopped into Mattress Firm in Hyannis on our way home from a wedding. We had been talking about getting a new bed and wanted to try them out. We live on Nantucket and we knew they shipped to the Island. Bill helped us find our perfect mattress. We also bought an adjustable base, pillows, mattress protector, etc... in short he was a good salesperson. He told us the next delivery (once a month) was a few weeks out on 11/6. We talked about it, and called the next day to confirm the purchase. The night before delivery, we got rid of beds, rearranged our house and got ready for delivery. I checked online to see the schedule delivery time and found it said the delivery date was 12/2049 (yes you read that right). I sent Bill an email directly and did not hear back. I called the store the next day on delivery day around opening time and the gentleman at the store said he was checking on this and Bill would call me back. At this point I missed work to figure this out because I did not want to miss our delivery. I finally heard back after 11am. He told me we would not be receiving our order that day. There was very little explanation other than our order never left the shipment center. He promised he would get the order on a Cape Cod Express truck and have it delivered by 11/9 (no setup service available). At that point, I thought that was fine. He asked if I would coordinate this shipment directly with Cape Cod Express. After spending a while on the phone with them coordinating (which he could have done himself), he calls my boyfriend to tell him our mattress was backordered and not deliverable until December. He never took my call or called to apologize. I was able to get in touch with a regional manager and will say, Luke from the Falmouth store was helpful and very apologetic. He worked hard to provide us a solution but in the end we were so disenchanted with the process and company we pulled the plug and went local. We ended up buying a similar level bed from Marine Home Center on Island for a fraction of the cost. The whole situation has been extremely frustrating and we are still waiting on an email confirming our...
Read moreI called on the phone and spoke to a Salesman named Bill told him that I needed a very inexpensive mattress and box spring. I explained to him that I had lost everything in a flood over the winter time and needed something just to get me through to the e nd of this season.
Billl saidsaid they had something for me and when I arrived took me to the back right hand corner of the store and showed me mattresses and box springs that that were more then I had planned on spending.
After completing the transaction I went to pick up my mattress and when I got over to the left hand side of the store to carry it out to the car there were two large stacks of clearance items that would have saved me a lot of money. I insisted at that point we redo the transaction and purchase the less expensive mattress and box spring,. Bill then told me he was unaware of the clearance items.
Bottom line here is I was lied to and after over a week I have still failed to receive any confirmation of a credit for the money that's owed back to me and when and when I call to check on why I haven't seen the credit I get the standard it takes 7 to 10 days sometimes as much as two weeks.
This is not true it is not fair but I would never do business with a company like this ever again. I don't know about any of you out there but I've had credit issued to my credit card before and they take 24 to 48 hours at most.
This is a disreputable company. I was sent a request to fill out a survey electronically via email and because my answers were negative I couldn't process the survey at the end and when I tried to do it a second and third time the same thing occurred they wouldn't accept the completed survey.
Stay away from...
