Billie's Kitchen — Restaurant in Barstow

We must have come at the worst time ever. We ordered lunch and it didn’t come out till an hour later. Which would have been nice to know that like hey we just got a lot of over the phone orders your lunch will be awhile, but that was not communicated. Also on this line another couple waited an hour with us for food and they ordered before us and didn’t get their food I don’t know if it’s because of what they ordered or the hostess felt pity we had hangry kids. We left before seeing when they got their food. Secondly I’m marking it down because the food was sub par at best after that long wait. We got a kids meals chicken wings which tasted like anything you can get at any fast food joint and the fries were stiff. We also ordered a chicken kids taco which was meh and the beans and rice were also not anything to write home about. We last ordered Taquitos which might have been the worst chicken thing we ordered out of the three and that’s saying something. I don’t know who’s reviewing this place with such high stars but the only nice thing about it was the hostess. Anyways keep driving in my opinion. I drive here because it had five stars but I left disappointed because the cashier was very rude. We ordered a coke and she brought us a water. She asked my daughter to put paper in the bathroom. I ordered rice and beans and she did not bring them. I asked for two tacos grilled chicken and she gave me shredded chicken. Her attitude was always very bothered. I also asked her for my receipt and she did not want to give it to me. She later came and brought me to two to go plates and asked me to get out and leave. She showed me a sign that said we refuse service to anyone. undoubtedly this place takes a sign as a pretext for not serving those who they think are of a different race or appearance She should know that the customer is always right. I hope that the owner improves his restaurant. I will pray for the cashier so God may give her more patient towards...

I was on a road trip with my son. Our car had an issue and we had stay the night. The people I encountered were unfriendly to the max, with no inch of sympathy. I was energetically depleted and had come to the conclusion that Barstow was a hot and unhappy hole in the desert.

Anyways as we were waiting for our car, we decided to walk over to Billie Jo's restaurant.

Let me tell you, it was a breath of fresh air. We were greeted with genuine kindness. And when you are down a smile really does turn things around.

We were taken care of so wonderfully and Billie Jo even gave my son extra chips for free when she noticed he wasn't eating his burrito.

You can immediately tell she cares and that this restaurant is her baby. Please support it by coming by, you will not regret it.
