Really disappointed. Maybe it was a one-off experience since this is supposedly top ten in bartlett. Never been before and accidentally came in the wrong door (door was unlocked and no sign saying otherwise). Got side-eyed by who I'm assuming is the manager and (assuming) head waitress/hostess. We would have happily moved tables but had no idea. Was assigned a waitress who took our drink order but never came back for our actual order (addressed a table that came in after us instead). We got a new waitress who was awesome. Ordered country fried steak with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. I guess i had high expectations from a "southern cookin" restaurant but the country fried steak was no different than what i get at sams and toss in the air fryer. But what got me was the mac n cheese. This was the bottom of the barrel. Should've just asked for a different side. Took a few bites thinking maybe it had breading on top, but no. It was crunchy and clearly the last of what was there. Heard the table behind us ask for mac n cheese and were told they were out. Yea. I'm pretty sure they scraped the last for my cup. Super disappointed. We don't eat out much so we won't be back. Maybe it was a bad night, I don't know.

First time visit on October 4th 2025. I ordered the chicken livers and turnip greens with cornbread. The food was excellent and the portions were large. It was a lot of delicious deep fried chicken livers with an unusual breading that was different but still delicious. The chicken livers were so clean that you didn't get that usual flavor... but it was even better. The turnip greens tasted authentic to me. The best part of the experience was the good friend I was dining with! Best to park around the back of the building since they're on the main drag and there is no parking in the front of the restaurant. Nice little jewel right in the heart of Bartlett, Tennessee. Prices are also quite reasonable. Everyone in the place... from the lady at the register to the two waitresses we saw were all very pleasant and friendly. This is a casual diner type restaurant. The doors entering the restrooms could have been a bit cleaner but it was a very busy day with the Bartlett fall festival. We got there mid-afternoon after the crowd left... So that is understandable. This was my first time and it definitely won't be my last!

I ordered to-go and was pretty disappointed. The chicken breast was soggy on the bottom and when I tried to pull it apart, it was nearly impossible, extremely tough. Fried chicken should pull apart easily so I was afraid to take a bite. Either it was underdone or seemed to have been boiled before being battered and fried. The potatoes were fine, the macaroni and cheese were dry and bland and the rolls were the kind you find in the freezer section. If it were cheaper, I probably wouldn’t have complained but for the price point, at lunch even, the food quality needs to be better. My daughter liked her corn dogs but the fries were unseasoned. Overall, likely won’t return.

Roaches, sticky floors and incredibly rude owners. I hope you enjoy food that would be rejected at an old folks home because that is what you'll get. Fresh baked rolls... I didn't know Sister Schbert's baked for the back bath room? I knew one of the head cooks when this place first opened, the owners found out she was a PTSD disabled veteran and fired her the next day. Even tried to steal her recipe book before she left! SMH She had me on the speaker phone in her front pocket when she was called into their office and "let go". Tried to tell her that the recipe book that she had brought to the restaurant when it opened was "their property" because she was their employee.. ahahahaha um no Karen that is not how intellectual property ownership works. I know she sued the owners for unlawful termination and the EOO got involved. No idea what happened after. So if you want to frequent a place that discriminates against disabled veterans.. knock...
