P. Terry's in Bastrop, Texas is definitely not the best place for burgers and fries in this town. I would have already forgot we ate there, but I took notes and said I would review. The burger may be less memorable than a café burger down the street. The fries were as many already reported: soggy. I heard that their fries make good slapping devices as they bounce back. My sister said the cheese was way too overbearing and couldn't even taste the tomato or lettuce as they got swallowed up by the cheese, AND she had extra veggies on the burger, and that is all she remembers. The complimentary cookie was a slap of baking soda and sugar across the face with an aftertaste of, "Why did I eat that?" My niece started coughing and said, "What was that? It made me cough." The tea was like turpentine and I suspect it could strip the paint from the walls. The cokes tasted as if they used Mexican tap water with a spritz of sadness. They got my sister's drink order wrong, and they handed her drink to the next person in line. It looked like they had 13 people stuffed in that little building, and they did not look too happy to be there. One of the workers was sweating profusely while the orders came in. My parents and aunt said they would not return, but my sister and I are going to give them a few months to work out the wrinkles and maybe season the grill...
Read moreThis location doesn't seem to taste as fresh As in some Austin locations nor is the food hot it's barely warm. The fries were way over salted & extremely soggy/limp. I don't know about anyone else but I personally love my burgers warm-n-fresh & my fries to be hot crispy - n- crispy. Quite a few of the employees aren't very friendly either I've not seen a single employee smile except on one of my visits I wish I could remember the day and time range because actually that whole crew was full of smiles & chit chat. In fact that particular crew appeared to get along very well & work together efficiently with fun thrown in the mix. My visit time before last was by far my worst experience I had forgotten my reading glasses so I asked the girl taking the orders if she could tell me what it read because I couldn't read it. She sighed really loud said something muffled and then paused for a good moment and sighed again before quickly & very quietly rambling what the #1 was. I was so at a loss for her behavior because after all it is part of your job to know the menu or so I...
Read moreFood is good, and service is quick. Make sure you verify your order is correct. The last 2 times I got food there, they gave me an order and I was just tired and lazy and just drove off. One time when I got home I realized it was the wrong order - for somebody else, probably grabbed the wrong bag. The other time they had given me a bag of burgers, but the fries were in a different bag, and they never gave me that other bag. Both times I called the store and let them know, by the time I got back to the store(about 5-10mins) they had the food ready and I got to keep the wrong order as well (ate it for lunch at work the next few days). By the way, they have THE BEST breakfast potatoes. I wish they had them available all day as an option vs fries. Honestly I like them WAY better than the fries. Sometimes I go to another fast food chain(orange and white colors just across the freeway…😉) and get breakfast sandwiches there, and go to P.Terry’s for potatoes before or after. Then go home to eat them,...
