Taqueria el zacatecano — Restaurant in Bastrop

I’ve lived in Bastrop for 18 months. This is LITERALLY the only solid Tex-Mex in town. I’m born and raised in San Antonio, every sitdown place within a 10 mile radius is mediocre at best.

This place has banging breakfast tacos, and regular lunch/dinner menu is great. Handmade drinks, none of the fountain BS lemonada or horchata the other places in town serve. How you can really tell, the salsa is great and his green hot sauce FUEGO.

Incredible food. Try the chilaquiles plate and the Al pastor tacos.

One caveat is that the phone reception was weak in their end, which made ordering difficult.

Needed somewhere to stop in Bastrop while I waited for a friend. They do not skimp on the meat portions in these tacos and give you two large corn tortillas with each taco. The salsas were delicious!

The employee even refilled my lemonade while I ate outside.
