There were things I liked, and then some I didn’t and it would depend on the length of stay they needed and whether or not they needed a pool. I didn’t particularly so it was OK for me. I didn’t like how heavy the doors were getting in and out since I use a walker or a cane. It was very difficult for me to hold the door and get out the room with the dog or anything in my hands I also didn’t like how high the bed was with nothing to step up on to get on it. However, the bed was fabulous once I got there and I loved loved love the pillows. I had to be moved three times the night I checked in well twice and the third one I stayed in. The first one, had a door lock that wouldn’t open with the key and the second one. The air conditioner was not working. The third one is fine and the young man that was on the desk that night was very very helpful and very, very apologetic that the room had to be moved. The trash by the doors always seem to be full and running over and attracted flies badly so they were coming in the door with you and following food. If you were bringing food in the morning, I checked out there was trash piled at the front entrance and I thought that was very unsightly. The sheets and towels were very nice and seemed new and probably worse since the hotel has not been open very long. All in all I like that it just needed to be a little more convenient for partially handicapped like a small stool for forgetting into the bed and someone to hold the heavy door open. I would like to see young men on duty the night I checked in to get positive points for being so nice and helping me after having to move my room several times and his relief did not come in that night and he was supposed to leave at 11 and was still there the next morning And he spoke to me and asked how things were goin. He was by far the nicest desk person I encountered...
Read moreSuites are OK, only a few weeks old so everything was in pretty good shape. Kitchen was min equipped, but good enough. The store by the lobby is very expensive. The a/c is nice and cold but blows right on the bed and is loud. Floors are dirty, will turn your feet black. The comforter smelt really bad, and I asked for another one and they were happy to replace it. I recommend bringing a case of water, don't use the water from the tap. The wifi is pretty bad, I needed to work from my laptop and had to use my personal cell hot spot instead. Staff is very friendly. Parking spots can be hard to find. Lots of usb ports for charging. Bathroom door is 'barn door' style and there is very little privacy. I noticed the noise from the room travels a lot and same for the hallway cleaning crew. Bed was firmer than I would prefer, but pretty good. No tissue box for whatever reason so I got one. The TV is pretty old, and I couldn't use my phone on it and only has antenna channels. There is no alarm clock, you have to ask one, you have to also ask for a clothes iron. The driveway washed out, so you have to go the wrong way into a neighborhood to reach the parking lot. There is a lot of dirt on the carpet in the hallways and stairs from the crews working the area. Unfortunately, nobody is cleaning it up so it's getting ground into the carpet. There is a patio at the back of the building with some grills. Currently it's 9:30 pm and its blasting vulgar music. There is very little if any water pressure...
Read moreThe staff seemed unsure about How they handled reservations. It was an hour up to 3 o’clock and they said they weren’t sure that they had my room ready and they kept me waiting back-and-forth without communicating very well and then finally gave me my room, but it was an odd way to start.
When I got back to the hotel, I was locked out of my room and after I worked it out with the guy at the front desk for about 10 minutes he said that “oh we thought you were another guy. We came into the room and saw the belongings and thought they were his so we charged this other person who we thought left his belongings in the room still because we came up to the room and thought your belongings were his. “ it was just an odd situation and I wasn’t totally clear as it was that the guy had been in the room obviously posed a security risk.
Also please let your guests know beforehand a “wake up call” is different from knocking on your door. I appreciate the effort but it was a bit jarring. So please clarify that before hand to guests if they request. Wake-up call.
Yall were out of coffee cups.
I anticipate that a lot of this is growing pains, but I will definitely check out the other reviews and see how things develop with you when I’m back in Bastrop. The staff was friendly and the grooms were really nice of us, but I feel like I have to leave the feedback just to help y’all. I wish you all the...
