For years, Arby's in Batesville was one of my favorite fast food restaurants in our town. No longer true. Both the service and the cleanliness of this store have declined at a rapid pace. Today's experience was the icing on the cake. My young daughter and I chose Arby's as our dine-in lunch location. We arrived well after the lunch hour rush -- a conscious decision on our part so we could have an enjoyable lunch together. #1 While the person taking our food order was polite and friendly, his fingernails were grossly dirty. #2 After paying for our meal, we stepped into the dining area to select a table. The dining room was not crowded with diners. I would estimate 75 percent of the tables were vacant. But as we looked closer, 100 percent of the vacant tables were DIRTY. The table tops were greasy and covered in crumbs. DISGUSTING. We finally located the two end seats at one table that, while not clean, were less dirty than the rest. AWFUL. #3 When our name was called to pick up our food order, I asked the same young man with the dirty fingernails for napkins. "Ummm . . . we're out of napkins." Me: "You're out of napkins???? Are you telling me you are operating a restaurant and you have NO NAPKINS? That is unbelievable!" The young man replied "Yes, THEY failed to order any last week and so we didn't get any in . . ." I just shook my head in disgust. The sad thing is there is a Walgreen's store just 500 feet away. Yet no one in the Arby's restaurant management had enough initiative to walk next door to Walgreen's and purchase some table napkins!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I tried to give the Batesville Arby's restaurant a break by thinking they were experiencing staffing issues. But my observations proved that theory completely wrong. Looking at the area behind the counter, the Arby's staff was primarily just standing around. Doing nothing. Nothing other than sending drive-thru customers forward to wait on their food. (I have since learned that drive-thru customers are timed. If the drive-thru customer is told to pull forward, it resets the timer. Thus the restaurant personnel are not 'dinged' for a slow drive-thru.) What has happened to this formerly 'top of my list' fast food restaurant??? It is...
Read moreI gave this place a third chance after two previous visits, one of which made me wait 20 minutes in the parking lot for my drive through order. This time, father's day, I get to the store about 11:20 am. Nobody in line at the drive through. I'm told right off the bat, "If you're going to order anything with roast beef, it's going to be 30 minutes before we have any ready to serve." That's just great. Your main product is ROAST BEEF. You don't have ANY when you open. So, I ordered two chicken wraps for $5. They got those wraps to me fast. So fast they were Ice cold! The cheese wasn't melted. Never melted. The chicken? It was fried, yes, but cold. The tortilla was cold. How do you have cold fried chicken at opening?! I didn't take it back. Too disgusted. Does Arby's know how dangerous chicken is when left out at room temperature?
In my opinion, this franchise needs shutting down. Inferior service. Inferior product. Premium prices. Somebody, in my opinion, doesn't train his employees or doesn't care. It's never busy there, but always slow. Never getting another penny from me. The best advertising is by word of mouth. I'll be sure to spread the word. One would think with the jacked up prices for fast food these days they could hire better managers and pay them...
Read moreThe last three times we went something was broke down, today it was the ice machine, the young man gave us a cup of ice to split between my husband and I, instead of taking our cups to the machine for the to go customers and filling them, but hay he tried, then the sandwich wasn't really hot and the fries were cold, they open at 10, this was at 11:15 right after we got out of church, and another thing, the last time we were in there after church the floors were nasty, I wondered how did they get that bad in an hour, then they were the same way today, I clean houses and if I left a house that dirty after I said I clean it, well let's just say, I wouldn't be working at that house very long, evidently they don't pull out any chairs to sweep, there was a paper under the table where I sit off of a straw, then I noticed a big black spot of dirt in front of the drink machine, if this had been the first time I saw this I wouldn't say anything, but this makes me not want to go back, I just wish the manager would go in about 10:30 before anyone really gets a chance to make a mess and just see what it looks like, this could cost them a...
