China Food — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

The best, tastiest, freshest, friendliest, fair priced and family owned Chinese-American takeout food in the city of Baton Rouge. They used to be called Oriental Pearl but i guess the owners decided to change the name bc there is another unaffiliated oriental pearl Chinese-american takeout off Sherwood. I commend the owners on picking a new name that will show up first in google searches for Chinese food but i wish the name could be something more personal to the sweet family than runs it. If not their family name maybe a catchy word or phrase in the language i hear them speak in the kitchen. Something related to their vast and wonderful heritage. My complaint is so small and insignificant though, I still give a 5 star rating because regardless of what this place is called, so long as the food is this good i will always eat there when i have a hankerin for takeout and you...

OK!! In town visiting and goggled for great Chinese food. Found China Food. When I arrived I passed it up because I thought it was a “closed” building, but decided to make the block and pull in. VERY SKEPTICAL!! The outside was NOT aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and I was scared to get out of my car. Saw the OPEN sign flashing and decided to walk in. Completely empty inside and then the nicest lady came out from the back. We ordered because I just couldn’t get over their reviews. Food came quick, fresh, and extremely delicious. PLEASE DON’T JUDGE THIS BOOK BY IT’S COVER (although they could use a make over) It’s worth every penny and not expensive at all. My new favorite spot when I’m in town. I called in a pickup order and received the wrong food. When I called the restaurant back to correct the order, they insisted that they didn't mess up the order. The manager then offered to play my initial order back to me to prove that they didn't mess the order up. I accepted and told them to play it back over the phone. After several attempts to play the order back, they never did and they never resolved my incorrect order.

It's a shame I had to write this review because I used to really enjoy ordering from here. Unfortunately I can't say I'll be ordering from here again. If they restaurant can prove that I gave them the wrong order, I will take this review down. However, they didn't seem interested...
