Cork's Cajun Fried Fish & Shrimp — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

*UPDATED 04/03/24!!!! I hadn’t been in a while and decided to give it another shot this afternoon. I went around 6pm and the staff was courteous. There was a little wait. HOWEVER, the food was DELICIOUS! I ordered a shrimp poboy w/fries and beignet bites! The shrimp were fried to perfection the bread was soft the fries crispy on outside everything was fresh and made to order! To get my food like that I’ll wait the extra time! I’ve had my issues with Corks but it was really good! The picture is from my most recent visit! I have visited this location 3 times. My 1st time was shortly after they open and the food was hot and fresh. The 2nd time was absolutely horrible! My mother and I ordered the Fish/Shrimp special, at the drive thru. The Fish-COLD, Shrimp-COLD, Fries-Cold, No ROLL on either plate and 2 coleslaws were given instead without being asked or informed there were no rolls. My 3rd and last time going, because I was giving it a chance, NO BETTER. I told the clerk to make sure I get hot fish and fry's and explained to her the problem I had prior, she said ok, got my order parked to eat in parking lot, and the ONLY THING HOT WAS THE FISH, I ordered the Fish/Shrimp combo again! If you ever have the chance to go to Cork's, I highly recommend the fried shrimp. The shrimp must have been 16 to 20 count. They were very large and perfectly seasoned. The french fries did not disappoint. 10 shrimp for 12.95

I had the fried fish on a previous experience but did not have a picture to post. It was excellent as well. It had a flaky texture and light flavor, not a gamey or fishy flavor as I've had at other places.

Also pictured is the crawfish etouffée. It was excellent. The stew-style gravy was properly done. The rice was perfectly cooked and the green onions were a nice finishing touch. It was also served in a real bowl which elevated the experience.

The fried beignet balls were excellent. I recommend them.

We did not have to wait long for our food and I did not mind since it was served hot and fresh. The clerk even hand-delivered the food to my table. The clerk was very nice and asked if I needed anything else.

I know this sounds strange but the quality of the fountain Coke I got was spot on. Sometimes there is too much or too little syrup sometimes there is too much or too little carbonation. This drink...

Our first meal from this restaurant was take out and then we went back the next day and dined in. Both experiences were top notch! On the first visit we went based on a recommendation from one of the employees, Louis. We met one of the owners, Paul, who welcomed us like we were old friends. The restaurant is clean, organized, and no sensory overload with noise, colors or a busy menu. Well... let's just say we were not disappointed. The fish and shrimp combo meals fed is for almost three meals and was delicious. The fish was fresh and the shrimp big, both were very light and did not feel like you were eating a lot of grease from being fried. We also had the corn and shrimp soup...yum!! The next day we went back for the shrimp poboy and decided to get a cup of the etouffee. Again we were not disappointed. Both so good. The dining area was nice and to see the employees care about the customer's dining experience was great. They actually came out on the dining floor and check on all the customers. We will be back!
