I'm only giving this place a 2 because the food was good and our waitress was so sweet. Me and my boyfriend went to eat at this restaurant 9/13/14 at 730pm. We waited the 45 minutes and in the mean time had a wonderful glass of wine, which we did not mind at all. After about 30 minutes the owner Mike came up to us and said "there was another couple who was in line before y'all that went across the street to have a drink and they are coming back for their table, don't think we skipped you guys if a couple comes and gets sat before you." We didn't really mind although this just sounds so strange to me. 15 minutes later the hostess comes to us sitting outside and seats us at a lovely table. We placed our drink orders and everything and began to look at the menu. Mike came to our table and said "Remember those people I told you about, well the waitress skipped them and sat you here instead, i'm going to need you guys to take your drinks and get up and wait for the next table." I literally laughed, thinking that he was absolutely joking…. He wasn't. He honestly wanted us to get up, grab our wine and waters the waitress had brought us, and stand up near the bar until someone got up and we were "Next in line." It was humiliating, I can't even put into words. I have never had this kind of treatment. We stood up at the bar flabbergasted at what had just gone on. They sat us 6 minutes later at another table, luckily it was only that short of time because if it would have had a little longer to set in what the hell had just happened we would have left. We should have left. Instead we ordered $130 worth of food. That couple SPLIT an entree and didn't even order drinks since they had them across the street... I still can't believe this happened. DO NOT GO TO DIGIULIO BROTHERS. He didn't bring us a free appetizer, meal, drink or anything. He came to our table to explain his story not even apologizing. He honestly said "They were mad at me i was in a tough spot." Ummm what? You don't make people get up from a seat in your restaurant. If it was only 6 minutes they could have waited. I will never go to this establishment and I'm telling everyone I...
Read moreI've been coming for years for special occasions and never had an issue until recently. I went w my gf to celebrate 5 minths together. We showed up and there was a wait of about 45 mins for a table on the patio. The hostess informed me i had to wait there (as opposed to taking my phone number so i could wait in the car) which would've been fine, but there was no where to wait. The inside was packed and super loud, so we decided to wait outside in the parking lot. We sat in the gravel for over 30 mins. When we got a table, they tried to sit us inside. I wanted to comply but after a full minute of the loudness, I asked if we could be moved to the patio. We were sat at a folding table in the gravel (not under the patio). Someone came to take our drink order and bring us water. We waited a while to order, I didn't time it. When we finally ordered, we only got a plate of chicken parm to share. The owner came by to chat for a sec bc I guess he could tell we were being neglected. The side salad came (split even though we specificed not to) before we even got our waters. The soda didn't arrive til much later. The menus never left our table, nor the dirty salad plates. We didn't ask for them to plate the meal separately, but it arrived that way. The chicken was clearly left in the fryer for too long bc it was dark and slightly burnt tasting. I ate it anyway bc I didn't feel like waiting another hour for them to fix it. Here's the most confusing part. I don't know who our server was. I think it was the girl who ran the card at the end, but multiple different people came to our table randomly to give us things. I didn't know who to ask for anything or who that tip went to. It was very disappointing and I felt dumb for gushing abt how good this place is when were on the way there. This was my favorite date night restaurant in baton rouge until now. I might give it another try one day, but this experience has definitely damaged my opinion of this...
Read moreIt's a cafe/restaurant, so if you are looking for a bar experience on the weekends- go there. Waiter took drink order and we never saw her again. Thirty minutes later, drinks arrive & waiter took off. 30 minutes goes by, we grab another waiter walking by & we ask to get our waiter. The music was turned up so loud that our small table of 4 had to YELL to hear each other THE ENTIRE TIME. Waiter NEVER came back to check on us. We stop a waiter and he takes our food/drink order. A man approaches us from a table & says I guess our night of a nice dinner experience wasn't going to happen with a grin. After almost two hours of no food & one drink, that same man came and told us that he's the owner, that the kitchen was closing and they only had lasagna left if we still wished to order. We told him that we ordered ages ago & it never came, but yes. He said he would comp the entrees but when we got the bill they were not. Paid at the b/c the waiter never came back to our table, & the bar tender couldn't hear when trying to mention the entrees, so we just paid and got the hell outta there. It was a huge party scene, which is fine if you are planning on that experience. The ONLY reason why we stayed and tried to make the best of it was because we were meeting a friend's fiancé from out of town for the first time, and we were all trying to stay chipper. I was embarrassed b/c I had recommended we go there. Shame on the owner for ruining many people's evening- tables all around us were sitting in silence, on their phones, b/c it was too loud to communicate, but his two table were singing along and dancing. I like that too- in the appropriate environment I LOVED everything D. Brothers used to be, and I promise my name...
