I'm giving my overall rating a 3 at the moment, strictly based on the quality of the food. I see many people complaining about the prices and/or sizes of rolls, but the sushi industry is about paying for quality. For many years I've come to this establishment, highly recommend them, enjoyed the happy hour a few times and plenty of dinners. Yesterday was my worst experience with the lack of acknowledgement from the bartenders. To be made to feel like an inconvenience upon arrival was a terrible feeling, especially when I went there to spend money and have a great experience as I have in the past, for YEARS. When I see reviews about poor service, I may overlook it, taking into consideration that it could have been really busy during other people's visits. Last night it was not that busy, there was no one at the host stand, there were only 5 other people at the bar (if employees are allowed to sit at the bar outside of their shift, it shouldn't be obvious that you are an employee, nor should the bartenders spend all their time and attention on them), and a few tables by the sushi bar occupied. I've seen busier nights. I was not greeted at the bar, I wasn't even offered a menu, I had to ask for menus once one of them decided to stand in front of me and just give me a blank stare, was asked if I knew what I wanted after 2 minutes of reviewing the menu, put in all of my food and drink orders at once, received the wrong drink but didn't want to wait for them to remake the cocktail. The miso soup was lukewarm and came in a cold bowl, my other dishes were fresh as always (tuna ceviche, marg roll), but they wouldn't know that considering they did not check in on me at any point throughout my visit, did not offer or ask if I wanted/needed anything from another drink to any sauces. Overall, not a great experience with the lack of awareness, acknowledgement, and putting more effort into other customers who are picking up to-go food and employees drinking at the bar. How do you expect to have customers return if you're not trying to upsell, ask questions, check-in on the quality, make any suggestions, or give a simple greeting to make someone feel welcomed? Hopefully the company can get together to figure out where things need to change to keep their establishment from collapsing in...
Read moreI was a patron there tonight with my wife. We came here for date night, I was going to go to Hello Sushi, but I heard good things about your restaurant and wanted to do something different. When we arrived, your restaurant looked closed from the roadway, a neon OPEN sign would help greatly. When we walked in the hostess tried to sit us in the back by the bathrooms, I stopped her and insisted that we sit not so far back, since there wasn't anyone else there (except a family of 4 next to us) Our server was very nice, very attentive. The sashimi was good, even the Octopus was tender, kudos to the sushi chef for that.
However the music was just way too loud. I asked to have it turned down just a notch and management politely declined. There is no acoustic insulation in that place anywhere, with no ceiling and polished concrete floors, it's a big echo chamber. The speakers were blasting HORRIBLE 90's dance music. C&C Music Factory? Seriously? And the system isn't mutli-zoned? To top it off every time the AC came on the ductwork shook, it made a huge rattling and you can see the 1 1/2' diameter tube move every time it powered up. Might want to have it look at before it falls.
The owners need to do something about the acoustics and the playlist, and get a multi-zoned amp so it's louder in the bar than in the restaurant or at the sushi bar. I wish you the best of luck with your establishment, I hope you fix your loudness issues so we can enjoy your place again.

Read moreEaten here many times over the years, (we drive 2 hours to enjoy the food and service), but tonight was disappointing. It took over 30 minutes to get our order, the food was no where near as fresh and flavorful as it used to be. They had a crowd outside waiting in the sun and made people wait several minutes past opening (even though we could see them screwing around inside and they most definitely saw all of us), tried to seat us in the hot sun after sweating outside, then we moved to where everyone else was going (cooler area) as well. We then got our drink orders and she just sorta disappeared for a little while. Finally took our appetizer order and eventually took our sushi orders. Appetizer came out quickly but the sushi was 30 minutes later-5 rolls total. The avocado was not fresh and was turning black, the fruit (mango) was warm and chewy and the fish was warm and not “crisp” as it should have been, very chewy and blah. The server was nice but was inattentive and I think she was training a new girl, not sure that’s going to work out, but it was disappointing. There are too many other options closer to home that we will be utilizing in the future. Sad, used to be worth the drive and high price, but...
