I, unfortunately, had a terrible experience this past weekend. My best friend and I went to the store for the first time to search for something for me to wear at my engagement party. I was pointed in the direction of the white clothes and we were so excited looking around to see SO MANY cute options! I chose a few white options and made my way to the dressing room. The dressing room attendant was very kind and let me know if I needed any different sizes, she could get them for me. I tried on this 2 piece linen set and we loved it. The top was just a tad too small so I asked for a size up. Once she brought it back, I asked my friend to help me take off the smaller top because I was very aware that I was trying on white clothes and did EVERYTHING I could to not get makeup on them. We loved the set so we were getting ready to go checkout. The attendant told me to leave anything I didn’t want in the dressing room. No problem. We make it to the cashier and as soon as she’s done running my card, another lady (maybe a manger? I’m not sure, she didn’t introduce herself) comes up and asks if I just tried on the top she was holding, it was the smaller top I tried on. I confirmed and she told me that it was a policy that if I got makeup on something, I had to purchase it and that there was a sign in the dressing room. We both stood there in absolute shock and confusion, I said “….ok…”. She put the shirt down and walked away. And I had to purchase a shirt that was too small for me. I’ll post a photo of the shirt. We were running late to my first wedding dress appointment so we were in a rush and left. But, naturally, as soon as we left we thought of all the questions we should’ve asked. Now there was a sign in the dressing room and I do remember it saying something along the lines of “please refrain from trying on clothes if you just had a spray tan” but I honestly don’t remember the rest of the sign. So I’m not saying there wasn’t a sign but maybe someone could have verbally mentioned it to me when they saw and heard me choosing multiple white options. Honestly I’m mostly upset at how it was handled and the state of the shirt. The lady who told me of this policy didn’t introduce herself, was mostly concerned that how the situation was awkward for her and just walked away after my face very obviously showed how upset and confused I was. Also if I had absolutely ruined the shirt, rubbed my face on it and had makeup all over it, I would’ve completely understood and purchased it no problem. But I’ve had several people tell me they can’t even see the makeup. It was really disappointing when we were so excited to come back and find more things for other occasions. But I would’ve returned the set that did fit me if the return policy wasn’t just store credit. I’ve shopped at many boutiques and tried on many clothes that already had makeup on them as I feel that is just a part of boutiques and woman’s clothing. And I have never been expected or heard that anyone was expected to buy clothes after getting...
Read moreThis place closes at 6:00 PM on Fridays. I parked on the side at 7:40 PM to go to Zippy’s next door to watch the LSU baseball game. I saw the signage about towing, but like any normal person I assume it applies to during Bella Bella’s hours of operation which has been the rule for every single parking interaction I have ever had in Baton Rouge. This is the first time I have ever been towed in life, silly me. I’ve had family members shop at this boutique before but I will be making sure that never happens again. Treating your local community like this is atrocious & gross. I always try to support & pay grace towards local small businesses, but this is unacceptable. May Bella Bella Boutique never have a profitable year for the rest of their days. Looking forward to seeing an empty storefront eventually. Maybe people can park in peace someday when this underhanded business goes bankrupt & gets...
Read moreC’mon! Seriously! Look at the men reviewing Bella Bella because of their after hours parking. Not fair! This is a great boutique where you can find lots of wonderful clothing and accessories especially for LSU games, all holidays and cute summer fun outfits. Also great for shoes! The Bella girls are very helpful! I think if you realize the liability a business has with any injuries or vandalism- these guys would be more understanding. It’s private property. Bella Bella has been and is a valued Baton Rouge boutique! I love the sister store on Corporate...
